I'm not sure what you mean, Rich. Are you trying to reply to topics and are getting a "read only" message? Were you properly logged in when trying to reply?

Yawn,

I just noticed the same thing at the Hill House website (which has recently been re-designed), and was really surprised to read about the changes to the forthcoming Anansi Boys limited edition, because I don't think the information has come out yet in a Gaiman Series newsletter.

The price has gone up $45 Eek, and the additional material will be in a separate volume (probably slim) which will fit in the slipcase.

From the website:

The Hill House limited edition of Neil Gaiman's new novel, ANANSI BOYS is as beautiful and elegant as the Hill House edition of AMERICAN GODS. It is bound in a beautiful silk cloth, with a die-cut in the front panel of the slipcase revealing the color art laid into the front cover of the book. In addition, the limited edition of ANANSI BOYS is designed by Dagmara Matuszak, the designer and artist for MELINDA. It features six full-page pieces of color art illustrated by Dagmara.

AMERICAN GODS featured over 12,000 additional words that had not appeared in the trade edition. ANANSI BOYS also features additional material, but in a spectacular presentation. Within the slipcase of the limited edition there is not one but two volumes. The first volume is the signed limited edition of ANANSI BOYS.

The second volume features the following additional material:
A completely new Introduction to ANANSI BOYS, written by Neil Gaiman for the Hill House edition;
An eight-page passage from ANANSI BOYS that does not appear in the trade edition;
A section of an ANANSI BOYS screenplay that Neil Gaiman wrote a number of years ago;
A number of facsimile pages shot directly from the book in which Neil handwrote ANANSI BOYS.
Retail Price: $245, plus $8 domestic U.S. shipping. (International customers: please inquire for actual shipping costs when ordering.)
ISBN:
Not only do you receive a beautiful signed and limited edition of Neil's new book, you also receive this additional volume featuring all previously-unseen material. It is a handsome companion to the limited of ANANSI BOYS and will sit beside the limited edition within the slipcase.

Hill House will be shipping our edition of ANANSI BOYS the first week of January, 2006. It will be published in an edition of 1,000 copies.

There are some people go broke from gambling, buying lap dances, going on shopping sprees, and whatnot. I go broke from buying books.

To be more detailed and in all seriousness, so far this year, I've purchased 103 books, at close to $3,500. No, really. How many have I read so far? 4. That promotion at the bank really helped out, but still, doing the math just now, it's kind of scary. Well - could be worse. My father once maxed out five credit cards at Atlantic City, and it took my mother 11 years to pay it off.

Anyways, I just ordered Melinda. I'm thinking over if I should invest in getting the Hill House edition of Anansi Boys.

Someone should hide my credit cards...
