Shadoxfire Member	Posted Tiger and the "albino mongoose" in the cave at the end of the novel. Cain and Abel from the Sandman series. Hell yah. It was like the whole novel suddenly re-wrote itself in my mind after I recognized the "brotherly love". Maybe I'm wrong or maybe its just too obvious but as far as I'm concerned it makes Anasi Boys a "secret" Sandman novel.

Posted Hide Post I'm sorry to say that this doesn't work for me. The relationship is completely different - Abel loves Cain, and in a weird way Cain probably loves Abel. He must keep killing his brother, because that's who or what he is, just as Abel must keep being killed by Cain. Coates is a weasel. He doesn't love Tiger any more than Tiger loves him. They deserve each other. You can't say that about Cain and Abel. __________ We scraped along like rats, but now we will soar like eagles... eagles on pogo sticks!
