It comes up a couple of times that Anansi stories occasionally have his role wrongly played by bunnies, but I didn't see Neil incorporate that directly into the story elsewhere.
Well, except that Fat Charlie finally figures out that he doesn't have to be timid and can act if he needs to. Spiders, after all, are predators more than prey. Anyone else notice bunny bits that I missed? |

neil is reffering to i think brr'r rabbit who is based on anansi. brr'r rabbit is a character from stories told by slaves in the south back in the 1800's. he tricked people and other animals like anansi, and even has a story aobut him dying in tar like anansi. brr'r rabbit is in tales of the south disney animation film

Quite true.
However, I was asking if anyone else noticed bunny imagery elsewhere that I missed. The confusion that others have made with Anasi stories would seem a logical theme to thread into the book, but I didn't see any elsewhere. |

Fat Charlie also verrrry explicitly references Bugs Bunny, who's quite a trickster in his own right.
(First post! Yay.) |
