IMDB entry.

And read Neil's blog. He has much talk about this movie there.

I'm fairly excited. It was a very good book, so obviously I'd rather it wasn't messed up. It was a very traditional-style fairy tale though, so it would be difficult to screw it up where it would be simple to change the plot. I'm sure that whether as an adaptation of the book or as a movie unto itself, one way or another it'll be fine.

I participated in a test screening of the film last night.

It still has a temporary soundtrack and a few unfinished digital effects.

Claire Danes is a great Yvaine.

Michelle Pfeiffer has some cool moments.

I'm a fan of the Stardust novel as well as the movie Layer Cake (same director as Stardust), so I guess I was expecting something pretty great. That said, if you've read the book or the original comic, and enjoyed either...what you should expect going into the movie is a somewhat formulaic adventure/fantasy that incorporates the majority of the book's story line, events, characters etc., yet doesn't shine as bright.

Still worth the price of a ticket...and...I'll probably check it out once the final film hits theaters.

I don't think there is an official opening date yet, although I'm doubtful it will open in February.

Neil has posted about it in his blog, which is fun to read no matter what he talks about!

And the official movie site is http://www.stardustmovie.com/

Welcome aboard!

i just played with the digital coloring book on the Stardust website...and sent an e-card to a friend. that was fun! Smile and i'm psyched that Peter O'Toole is the king in the movie...he's such a great actor and i adore him. i tell you...back in his Lawrence of Arabia days...that man was a heartbreaker.
i remember Claire Danes back in her "My So-Called Life" days...and she's certainly branched out since then. and Michelle Pfeiffer looks like she will make a fierce Lamia. and the fact that Robert De Niro and Office guy are in it is the icing on the cake.

There's a really terrible review of the movie here on AICN. (There's very positive reviews linked within the same article.)

What I find hilarious about this review is the talkback, which I usually hate. Admittedly, the guy who wrote the review is a terrible writer/reviewer and I'm somewhat skeptical if he actually saw the movie (which he never actually gets around to critiquing) but the way the AICN talkbackers hit him is pretty funny.
