It took me a little while to figure out the search function...I was trying to search Neil's journal for the Neverwhere walking tour in London. Finally, I found a link somewhere (maybe GMZoe's bibliography?), but never got a search in the journal. I must be missing something...

Heh. Cool, I got *FISHed* -- not sure what exactly that means...I'd google it, but I'm afraid.

True. It basically reminds me of thousands of other blogs out there. Maybe black as a key background color would have made it a little more...mysterious?

The *FISH* thing is a board thing. Slapping people with fish. Um, yeah, can't explain it.
And yes, the journal is not yet on the search engine, which is highly frustrating (and why only the biblio stuff came up), but they have been alerted to it

Okay, which one of you guys wants to explain Neil's DEATH list? Is this a mental list of people he wishes would drop dead? Is it like my mental death ray of DOOM, or my friend's robot with Giant Metal Stompy Feet?

More likely the list of actors he thinks could play the character Death in the film adaptation of his comic book Death which he wrote & plans on directing

Neil's comic books would be the domain of my son and brother. Smile I'm woefully ignorant of them.

Don't worry. I won't send my mental death ray after you. Wink

When I asked Brother Beast and Spawn they just looked at me. It was my brother-in-law that said, "DUH!"

I don't know.

The new look is very professional looking. It's well laid out and quite clear. I guess it's a matter of taste - but umm... I kept expecting the next page to load up would be selling me a life insurance policy.

Half the charm of the old site was the magical graphics and spots of bright colour.

The new site has promise. But please... sprinkle some pixie dust over the site and make it a little less minimalist? Pretty please? With a maraschino cherry on top? Smile

Hmmm... I don't think I'm real worried about running into Neil out here in Cow Pie. Though, rumor has it Grisham has been to the Green Valley Book Fair (gvbookfair.com). I SAW Malachy McCourt when he was there. I might drive to DC or Richmond if I knew he was going to be in one of those places. I only travel great distances for AC/DC.

Do you live in Virginia, WV, MD, NC? That seems to be where we get most people from. The Green Valley Book Fair is one of the few consolations of living out here in Cow Pie. I really wish it would be open sooner than the end of next month.

I also know LOTS of people who've never been to the Book Fair, and I hang around at a book website.

I was just looking at the blog, and whoever sent this in, I thought it was unbelievably rude and uncalled for:

After looking over the redesigned website, I am left wondering if you are going through some sort of midlife crisis of banality.

I liked the old look better too, but I don't think there's any call to be mean in expressing that opinion. I just think it's incredibly cool that Neil has a site he participates in, a blog we can read on a regular basis, seems to want to have some interaction with his readers, etc. He doesn't have to do that, and there are many who don't.

Virginia - D.C. border (work in Maryland: borders are illusory)

Book Fair trips for everyone! Pile into the car, go down miles and miles of 81 South, exit right, turn left, across the small bridge, pass the cow - take the road to the left through the parking lot and the industrial metal sheds are on the right. I'm usually somewhere in the upper floor building connector on the floor with a pile of books sorting between keepers and maybes.

[though the elvish hordes would be really pleased if they'd show up with more novels]
