Did you ever see the episode of the Osbournes where Kelly's wigging out because the parents of a friend wouldn't let said friend come over because Kelly's father was Ozzy Osbourne and he bites the heads of birds!!! Kelly was yelling about it being twenty years ago, and it was very funny. But, you know what? I wouldn't let my kid go play at the Osbourne house.
Maybe the reason Neil went with boring and normal on the inside of his house was because he didn't want his kids to ever have the experience of a friend's parent saying, "Hell no you're not going to the Gaiman house! They think they're the Addams family or something!" |

Aliasmoi, Neil asked for people to give their honest opinions. I agree that parrotslave could've worded things differently, but I don't know that it would've made that message any more honest. And, as Neil says, he didn't design the site, he just let people know the sort of thing he was looking for. I doubt he sees it as an insult at all.

I'd ask that both of you leave the matter alone, please. Aliasmoi, even if Neil is mortally offended, there's nothing to be done about it now. And, parrotslave, I don't think you have anything to defend yourself against, and I'm fairly sure you feel the same. Let it pass.
