Thanks to the tireless work of our new public servant, aitapata, we've discovered something that might at least in part explain the board's wonkiness.

The more threads a board has, the slower it runs, generally, but if threads are put in an archive, a place where they're just sort of static, they take up less virtual space and the board runs a bit faster for each one placed there. For the last several months, we've been running with an auto-archiver that, regrettably, has not been archiving as efficiently as we'd thought.

This has left us with a rather large backlog to archive ourselves. Amy will be doing most of it, probably on Sunday evenings, so if you're logging at that time, Eastern Standard Time, that is, the board may be slow or even accessible while the archiving takes place.

We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause, but after a few months of this, the archiving should be caught up and we'll be in a faster, more efficient kind of place and the delays will be shorter. Or we'll all perish in flames. We'll see.
