You're a penguin! Stay away from Mischief the anarchist polar bear. And come visit us in World's End. The chatty daily one is called a "shift thread" and the current shift thread is called "The 36 Out on the Town Shift" But don't let us scare you. Wink

Welcome! Smile

"The other night I dreamed that King George VI was dead, and that Helen Hardinge had somehow or other got herself proclaimed Queen of England, and that I was detailed to go and tell her that it wouldn't do at all; and when I did this, all she said was, 'You see, I am really Queen Mary,' and I said, 'Oh very well' - words to that effect, and woke up.

Last night I dreamed that Eisenhower came to stay with us, and he insisted on being put to sleep in the dog kennel, with a collar and chain about his neck."

Hello and ditto. If you come over to World's End proper (aitapata's link), you may get a red balloon. Is that a crash helmet you are wearing?

No, just Mischief. He's convinced that every living creature is just a seal in disguise.

You are an Illuminator. You add color and beauty to anything you can get your hands on: books, tavern signs, clocks, small barnyard animals. While your work goes largely unappreciated, at least it pays the bills. Why, that enormous golden M you painted for the new Scottish restaurant down the street netted you a farthing!

Heh, yeah - looks like the penguin has a safety helmet, but full-body kevlar might be more to the point.

You are a Confectioner. Who can take a sunrise and sprinkle it with dew? Actually, that's Bob The Enchanter, two doors down on the left. But you make delectable treats, which is no simple feat considering Oompa Loompas won't be invented for three centuries. Not only do you delight with your sweets, but you've paved the way for a new profession: dentistry!

this board seems really friendly and cool--it is nice to find such a place again--as i said in a knitting thread, I used to belong to an awesome board that has since gone defunct--you guys remind me of the posters there...friendly and not crazy like other boards I have lurked on!

Hello. My name is SandWitch and I'm a n00b.

I got into Neil Gaiman's stuff when I was sent to work in a high rise minilab (1hr photo) in a broom closet with no windows and noone to talk to. I bought American Gods and instead of going insane, quitting my job and possibly needing therapy, I read it and three months later got moved back to my old store and civilisation.

Just recently I got to thank Neil in person at the signing in Melbourne. So right now I am a very happy n00b.

hello sandwitch

welcome to the board, if you want more than me responding to this you're actually better off going over the the Worlds End section of the forum and joining in there, perhaps starting yourself a new thread saying more or less what you've said here, this is a very quiet part of the board and i'm afraid if you stay here you may get overlooked!

Smile
