Just got my Moth tickets too (one for me, and one for a friend who might be able to join me). Yay!

Anyone want to plan to meet up somewhere before the events? I work til 6pm, so I'll have to kill time til the 8pm start times, preferably with dinner.

I don't think we can do anything for the wednesday night event (due to plane arrival times and luggage stashing), but I'm game for Thursday, if Xine says the schedule works (and if Mister David Lynch allows).

I'm curious if anyone is going to see Patti Smith on Saturday 4/28. I'm not going but I'm curious/nosey. It looks like it will be more spoken word than music - The PEN Cabaret, The Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey St, 8–10 p.m.

No......... but I do love Patti Smith. The one concert of hers that I've ever been to was the most intense concert experience of my life.

Why, are you going?

No, not going, just nosey. Between Neil and Patti Smith, though, it was sorely tempting.

An interview with Neil Gaiman is featured in the new edition of the Wild River Review (www.wildriverreview.com) - the international online literary journal. Neil speaks about his upcoming appearance at the PEN World Voices Festival, the important work of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, storytelling, comics, and myth.

quote:
I think that freedom of speech is purely and simply the most important thing we have. The freedom to have ideas, the freedom to express those ideas in honest writing, whether writing fiction or non-fiction. And I think the fight that PEN has and the fight that individual writers and journalists around the planet have, day after day, to express themselves - to write, to talk honestly about things that have happened is in every sense of the
word - vital.

If anyone's lurking, I'll be the girl with the bright pink backpack, so come on up and say hi!

I'll be the redhead, carrying a black totebag & a flower-pattern leather purse, possibly wearing a brown hat. (The week went by so fast! Forgot to check in here and make plans.)
