i wish. actually, can you do that? just go and march right in? i always assumed that for things like sundance or cannes you have to be on a List or Something. __________________________________ Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the paramedics.

Yeah, I'm a little clueless about how it works. I mean, aside from the registration fee, I think there's some kind of prioritization for getting tickets, and that movies with a lot of advance buzz are much harder to get into.
I'm not part of the New Video contingent that goes to the film festivals, and this is the first year that I've really wanted to go. (I mean, I always thought it would be fun, but not in a "let's spend hundreds of dollars to make it happen" way.) But when I think of hearing about the screening and any Neil & Dave Q&A second-hand from my co-workers....ouch. There's probably going to be some fan in the audience who will post details on the web, but what if the theater is packed with the clueless?

Will do! As of today I'm on the list for the 1/25 6:45pm screening. Neil (and Dave, I assume) will be doing a Q&A afterwards. I will try to come up with an interesting question, but, more likely I'll just listen and take notes for the board. (But a few of us from NVG will be meeting up with Neil sometime on the 23rd, so I'll say hello from everybody then :-) Now I just have to book my flight. I was afraid to do it until I'd gotten the screening ticket confirmed, in case I jinxed it. Dougie-Baby -- I wish you luck getting a ticket. You might have a shot, since the Tuesday screenings are in Salt Lake City instead of one of the Park City locations, and the big Sundance party starts at 5pm. I'm told it's the party with the best giveaways, but I'm pretty sure I'm skipping it to make sure I get to the theater with time to spare.
