Hello!
I've not posted on here for a year, or more, I forget. Edit: Three years!!!! Crikey!

Anyway, is anyone from here going to the Bath signing on Monday evening?

I've taken the day off of work and am rather chirpy about it, despite being with a cold. And despite being with cold, I wonder if anyone wants to meet up in the city before the obligatory queuing and have a cup of tea/coffee or something? I'm not that scary, I'm not a goth and I can play the ukulele.

I hope this helps.

Just because, here is what happened to me, as half nicked from my blog:

I arrived in to Bath some two or three hours earlier than need be. I went to Waterstones first, I wanted a copy of Brideshead Revisited, lucky I did go because I found out that the event was ticketed. I was 112/150, so I suppose I'd have got in anyway.

I killed time by heading into Starbucks *spit spit spit* and had a hot chocolate and finished reading Anansi Boys.

At about 6pm people were cooly lingering in Waterstones until some formed a queue. At 6.15 we all went up. Neil read from early on in the book (because not a lot of people had read it), and then he took questions, mostly about his previous work. More Neverwhere? More Sandman? Do the nightmarishly erotic sex scenes in his stories from from nightmare or dream? He told us about the first bit of his new children's book which sounds a damn sight scairer than Anansi Boys, as an adult book.

I was at the almost back of the queue for the signing after. Got chatting to a girl from Bristol named Rosie and a boy from Stroud whose name I did not catch.

Neil was very pleasent, as always, I asked if he had bought a lime. He had not but then, other people had brought them to him throughout his tour. He signed my book, and Good Omens, and one for a friend in San Francisco.

Me, Rosie and Stroud boy all had to head to the station, so walked back together. I had missed the 8.35pm train by ten minutes so sat with Stroud boy, while he awaited the train to Paddington via Swindon. We discussed books, and writing, iPods and travel.

Nearing the time his train was due, Neil Gaiman was on the platform as well, I waved, he said hello. The train was slightly delayed in and further delayed out.

The doors were not being opened on the Paddington train. After a few minutes the train guard shouted up the platform about a girl in a white top. She headed towards him, then ran, but he bardged into her which sent her flying and he said she tripped.

He said she had assaulted him on the train and she was doing her best to get away but made several flying trips to the ground before she gave up. A lot of restraint went on, a lot of denial and a police vsit before the train got to leave. Neil wooshed by where I was sat. My train came shortly after at 1015...I've not eaten yet. I've also missed Brideshead Revisited on the television. OH THE ANNOYANCE.
