Oh, thank god! I had this visual image of some one approaching Neil hefting this huge stack of various editions of everything he's ever written (including jacket blurbs and forwards). You've heard of the actor's nightmare? I think this just may be the author's nightmare! Razz

Have fun! I'll be attending the New York event, but nothing for Neil to sign. I'm going to try to get a copy of Fragile Things today, but not taking it with me. I just can't bring myself to do it.

But the signing is happening while they're (probably) showing Mirror Mask. Razz
Who's in?

I've never done this before. Is this signing in Minneapolis ticketed? I suppose I should call. 700? Dear lord.

Ok. Well, I`m rushing off to get my train there. Hopefully I'll see at least one familiar face in the queue. Wink

I posted this in the wrong place yesterday so here it is today. I picked up my copy of FRAGILE THINGS and is it a beautiful book. I've not read Neil's short fiction before and I am really enjoying it. Run don't walk to get your copy.

I attended the New York Event and it was a lot of fun and very inspiring. John Hodges was a great interviewer for Neil. I only wish there had been reading and interview then signing. I didn't not have anything signed.

The Anansi Boys tour pretty much put a kibosh on the live signing thing - at the Berkely signing, he didn't finish until 2 in the morning - a slight problem for the group of us that took BART (which closes at midnight) to the signing. Fortunately, a helpful fellow fan gave some of us a ride back to my place.

Jocelyn and I went to the Berkeley event last night - I enjoyed the new format more than the live signing, and they were selling signed (if not personalized) books anyway.

And now I know what the Secret Penn Gillette Project is! Neener Neener!

Son+Heir wants to go.

It's a school night.
Hmmm

He wants to watch MirrorMask while the rest of us do the "stand in line" thing.

I say let him go -- who knows when y'all will get the chance again? Sometimes a cool time with Mom is worth more than school . . .

Actually......he reminded me that he doesn't have school the next day because of conferences.

It's a win-win

I would thinkg that any time a kid is excited about a writer it's worth staying out late on school night!

I was there two days ago but I hadn't met any of you before so I don't know who else was there. Or whom I saw or didn't. The crowd seemed a reasonable size, there wasn't even a horrible line to get in. I was sort of worried about that but it was fine. When I left around 11:30 Neil was still signing. Otherwise I had lots of fun at the reading. The Q&A was like, he asked the questions himself and answered them (more or less).
