Oh fuck!! Forgive me, this is the most overprivileged complaint ever, but I just realized I'm going to Paris the weekend of the signing!

I even briefly considered trying to cancel my train tickets once I realized what weekend I had booked them for... but realistically, I've already been to Neil signings, I'll probably go to Neil signings in the future, but when is my next chance to spend a weekend in Paris with free housing? (I'm tagging along with my roommate who's visiting a friend of hers.) Still though, lame, I was really looking forward to the signing and meeting a bunch of British WE-ers Frown

I'm coming next Saturday (no, this doesn't belong in the 'I just got laid' thread!) - so where and when are we all meeting? Who's going? And how will I recognise you?

Edit: Now, which three books to take along? Decisions, decisions...

Along with the PM i just sent you, i think that i will be wearing my WE t-shirt, and holding a red baloon.

I think that meeting some time outside Coventgarden Tube station would be the best bet...as for what time i shall let you know...

Sounds good - our hotel is near the Bayswater tube station, which isn't too bad. Circle to King's Cross, Picadilly to Covent Garden, does that sound about right to you? Now I'll just have to make sure that I can buy Sandman vol. 1 beforehand, which should make a nice Christmas present for a friend once signed. Smile

Thirith- man, I live in Bayswater! If I weren't in France we totally could have partied it up. Or something.

Anyway. Apparently I *totally* lose at going to signings in London, because yesterday I went to the Blackwell's reading/signing-- and forgot to bring my books. (The thing was, I didn't have time to go home between work and the signing, so I needed to remember to bring them with me in the morning, and I just wasn't functioning at that level... doh!)

OK - so I screwed up on London, just couldn't get up in time. But I did get to the MK signing. Neil mentioned that he had given the happy birthday red balloon that the guys gave him in London to a chap who had gone round the queue twice and whose birthday it actually was.

It wasn't too big a queue in MK so I got a few seconds to chat and Neil signed the inside cover of the Amazing Travelling Quotable Sandman(tm).

Sorry to Dizzy, StB, DM and Thirith that I missed you. I'm just a bit crap really.

OK, so I'm not seen as a 1-post person (I dislike those people on other boards)...

The signing was pretty cool. Neil was friendly, easy to chat to and was signing everything! I had a few books for him to sign, but I wish I'd brought my copy of Season of Mists.

It was a bit cold in the queue though.

Remember - you'll always have the lime.

Talking of which, are there any photos online anywhere?

Hey, I want more details from the signing! Who gave him the balloon? what about the lime? Who was there? Piccies? Did you say hi from us, did he say something?

[ends creepy fan girly mode]

Denver and I went to the signing in Edinburgh. Denver ook a pic of me and Neil with his phone, I said to him hi from the Boardies, he said "Yeah, I kinda figured that when I saw your t-shirt", he remembered me from London (like, 4 years ago!) although that was after I told him we'd met before (how many Blancas from Spain are there, anyway?) and he remembered I was one of the peopl who complained about American Gods's Spanish translation (go me, remembeed for being a whiney annoying person Big Grin) and he said hi to everyone on th Board Smile

[end freaky scary fan girl mode, for real]
