Herro,

I attended Balticon this year and Neil did a reading of a short story he had just written. I was wondering what the title was and if/when/where it is to be published.
When I figure out how, I have some pictures of the con that I'd like to put up if that is ok. I have one of me giving him a dead rubber duckie. Smile.

also,

I hope I don't come off as a spammer or troller, but the motivating factor to get me finally join is, that my co-worker and his friends made a video. They do a series of short spoofs called Ultimate Eye for the Vertigo Guy. It's filled with comic book character/writer references and I found it to illicit some giggles and wanted to pass it along and see what Neil and fellow fans thought aboot it.

As long as we don't have to pay anyone to watch the videos, it doesn't count as spam. I can't check the link right now, being at work.

Welcome to the boards! I live nowhere near Baltimore, so I don't think I can help you without some more details about the story.

Miko -

Chimeer was there and so was I.

He actually read a couple of stories, if memory serves ... oh, look, I found it blog entry for it: http://www.neilgaiman.com/journal/2006/05/gremlin-rules.html

He says he read 3 stories:

"How to Talk to Girls At Parties" (that's going to be in "Year's Best SF")

"Orange" (I think maybe this was the new one - the one narrated by the girl whose sister is behaving ever-more-strangely?)

and

"The Day the Saucers Came"

But my recollection is that the last is more of a poem than a story. Still, who am I to argue with him?

In the blog he discusses the anthology that will (he hopes) contain "Orange," but I can't find any evidence that the book has come out yet.

Not much help, I'm afraid.

You are a Confectioner. Who can take a sunrise and sprinkle it with dew? Actually, that's Bob The Enchanter, two doors down on the left. But you make delectable treats, which is no simple feat considering Oompa Loompas won't be invented for three centuries. Not only do you delight with your sweets, but you've paved the way for a new profession: dentistry!
