I just got an update from the Intl ComicCon 2007, and it shows Neil as a guest on Friday, July 27. Is there any way to find out if this is really happening, and, if so, what time he will be there? It is such a huge convention, and I hate crowds, but I will attempt to go, if he's really making an appearance. Thanks.

Here is the Comic Con website. I doubt they have programming set in stone yet but any programming info they have will be available on this site.

[ETA: Oh, and several boardies will be at Comic Con this year if you're interested in saying hi!]

Thank you. That sounds like he'll be there, at least, they are saying he will in their newsletter. I'll check closer to the day, since I won't wish to hang out for hours in that huge crowd. Roll Eyes

He'll be there 1:30-3:30 on the 26th at the Paramount Pictures panel, along w/Roger Avary (with whom he worked on Beowulf), J.J. Abrams (Lost) and Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. from Iron Man. Also he will of course be presenting at the Eisners. And 10:30-11:45 on Sunday he'll be participating in the Jack Kirby Tribute panel. And that's only the stuff that's on the schedule so far.

(I'll be there, hangin' with Jena Smile)

I already found one time that Ray and I will be in seperate rooms: Friday night, from 6 to 8. 6-7 is Babylon 5, which Ray will NOT miss, and 6-8 is Kevin Smith, which I won't miss! It'll be interesting to see how we all split up over the weekend. Smile

Oh, and, as mentioned in the blog, though it's not on the con schedule yet, on the 27th he's got his own session, 2-3:15

While it looks like Neil won't be able to attend because of a schedule conflict, I thought you all might like to know that the film American Scary (which Neil is in) will be screening Thursday July 26 at 7:30pm in the convention film festival.

For those not aware, American Scary is a documentary about TV horror hosts, tracing the history of the genre from the 1950s to the present day, with lots of vintage clips and interviews from such classic hosts as Zacherley, Vampira, and Ghoulardi.

Neil appears in the film because if his stint hosting the Fox Movie Channel's 13 Mights of Fright a few years ago, and in addition to behind the scenes footage of the production of those bits, we have him speaking about his thoughts on the genre and how he became a host himself.

Hope you all can come see the film!

That does sound pretty cool. Unfortunately I might have a transportation conflict. But I'll make it if I can.

Hi this will be my first time at Comic-Con and I'm really excited to go to Neil's event on Friday!! Is it safe to assume that he will sign after the event? And if yes, is it limited or does he usually stay to sign everyone?

There is a signing right after the event.

Lines form early for signings, and the signings are only an hour long. They cannot run over because the signing areas are booked for other people to come in and sign things after Neil. So, in other words, if you see the event, you probably will not be going to the signing right after because the line will most likely have been capped before the event lets out.

Neil is away of the issue. He is trying to get some signings going that aren't right after one of his talks. Comicon hasn't posted a final schedule of events to my knowledge - keep an eye out on the official comicon site for details.

Neil's 3:15-4:15 signing on Friday shouldn't run into the trouble of "people who are at the event can't get to the line soon enough, as with the big name signers the Con is doing drawings ahead of time for places in line (for him it will be at noon that day).
