Neil is going to Tokyo!
Two days BEFORE I'm going to be there for the Tokyo Game Show! I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't know about this signing earlier. If I had known, I would have been able to rearrange my schedule to go. Ah, well. Is anyone else going to go? lethe,
I'm wearing JOURNEY's black T-shirt. So if you found the man who wear JOURNEY's black T-shirt, call out to me,"Hey Kenji!" |

Just I got back from signing. OMG! I still can't believe I met Neil Gaiman!!! But....yes, I met him and I got his autograph on my GOOD OMENS.
At the signing, I met some Neil Gaiman fans. They're foreigners who live in Japan. They are friendly and nice people. Because they are Neil Gaiman fans. After the signing, he did read aloud "Fragile Things". Oooooh, what a happy moments! |

so, i drove from numazu to mishima, caught the shinkansen to tokyo, got lost in tokyo (yeah, being from inaka land!) FINALLY made it to iidabashi at 9pm, and troubled through the map to find the publishers house....and the signing had finished!!!! so goes the curse of not meeting Mr. Gaiman!! (similar thing happened in my hometown,Perth!) hmm.....I should've taken that nenkyuu.....arghg! the publishers were very lovely and a bit shocked I had come from Shizuoka just to be there, but you know! Hello, my favourtie hero authour, come on! like I wouldn't try. so anyway....they said they would get Neil to sign my old, weathered copy of American Gods and I bought Coraline in Nihongo...was sitting on the unrereserved Shinkansen back to Mishima when my phone rings...It's Neil Gaiman!! argh!! and all I could say was 'holy shit!' So, I am posting this as I didn't want to call back (as the phone cut out 2x) and I know he doesn't read the forum but....I wanted to say thank you very much to him for the kindness and the phonecall was appreciated!! I do, however apologise for only being eloquent enough to say 'holy shit'. :S So....thank you to everyone for being so kind! I didn't think I could become a bigger fan, but I think now I am.

At the signing, he said "I want to go to the fishmarket". I guess he mentioned about Tsukiji's fishmarket.
Neil Gaiman eat sushi.....I've never imagined such a scene! |
