He *is* adorable. He's said in interviews that he was channelling James Spader at first, but as the series went on and Daniel himself grew and changed, so Shanks was able to build his own characterisation.

This is what kept me from the series for so long: I love James Spader and Kurt Russell, and couldn't imagine anyone else living up to the roles, but I think Shanks and RDA actually did a different, and in the end, even better job of the roles.

I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO UNSEE THAT.

This is the Kurt I was crushing on when I was a wee kid. I even had one of those necklaces.

How does Kurt Russell's hair look like a sandwich, Domi?

Erm. A friend of mine posted this on FB. Is it hot?

Not in the slightest bit hot - but then I don't suppose it's meant to be?

I'm not Domi, so she may have her own criteria, but for me (now, THANK you Domi) this is how.

I think that shot was from a Rolling Stone interview ages ago and it was meant to be provocative. Which doesn't always mean 'hot'.

I freely admit to drooling over Kurt Russell! I don't really understand the sandwich connection though.

That's because you are used to good Austrian baking, and don't immediately think of a half-slice of Mother's Pride when you see that haircut.

He is actually a good actor. I didn't find Bashir in the least attractive (Kira, Dukat or Garak, now, they are different matters...), but Siddiq can certainly be compelling when the role demands it.

If you want to see Siddig and Ralph Fiennes (when Fiennes was still beautiful, before he went all pompous) in the most homoerotic movie ever, watch A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia, which is an excellent, clever, complex film, and a worthy follow-up to the O'Toole version. I'm not kidding about the homoeroticism.

This message has been edited. Last edited by: Hive,
