For someone who spends an inordinate amount of time talking and speculating about where people of your acquaintance went to school or are going to go to school, you sure reacted strangely when your nephew told you that a person with a higher degree than he from a more prestigious university (not to mention more experience in an administrator's role) got the job he applied for but didn't really want.
Also, what does it matter where the person is from? And why must you ask these questions in such an accusatory manner?

If you were so pissed off that your weekend was completely ruined, why didn't you say something then?

Why would you try to call him when he's at work (in charge of multiple grade-school-age children, dealing with a new boss, and training a new co-worker) anyway??

NO actually this is my child and I very clearly requested that you stop because I was fine. You are the one who needs an attitude adjustment.

No, I don't really want to go with you. To be trapped on a bus for hours and then go wandering a city with you, eating food I shouldn't really eat, with nothing to look forward to but a long bus ride home. With you.

Also, why do you ask me to detail exactly what I do and then not listen to what I have to say? You know it's going to be a long explanation - you specifically asked for details.

*sigh*

Gentlemen, WHY did you pull the goalie? In my years of spectating this grand sport, this particular strategy has never produced desirable results.

- At the TV, Playoff Game 2, Wild v. Blues, Wild losing 1-4. Actual words spoken were smaller, louder, and much more offensive.

When I see you post a whole slew of things on social media and you've spent time interacting with him, while you've yet to respond to any of my emails.

I understand you have other stuff going on, but it's nice to know that you have priorities. It makes me feel ever so special.

How are you? I hope you are doing all right. I'd love to watch some old comedies with you, some Abbott and Costello, or Wayne and Shuster.

I didn't say any of this because I'm terrified you'll say no or, worse, just ignore me. I don't know why it still matters. Maybe it's how it ended the first time. Even in a best case scenario, we were very different. But I admired your intelligence, your wit, your vulnerability, and the fact that you reached out to me despite the latter -- because of it -- and I wasn't even looking for it, but you offered it regardless.

I miss it. I know if I say any of this again, you will just go quiet and leave. You'll leave anyway, and then turn up again later, when I don't expect you to do so. Maybe I'm just crazy and I read too much into things.

Maybe I just really need to let things go. But it's hard. I miss you. I miss you sometimes so hard that it hurts. Even though we didn't know each other long, you were one of the most real adult relationships I had. And I don't want to become *that* guy. I probably already have.

And the bitch of it? Even after all this time, if you asked me to be there for you, I would do almost everything in my power to be there in a heartbeat: despite time, despite differences, I would.

I just hope you are happy. I always have. Maybe I will see you around. It does tend to happen, much like it began.

I have the biggest crush on you. It's really best that er stay friends because i think we could be great friends for a really long time. I think i would be happy with that. But, if you tempted me to risk it,I'm not sure i could turn you down. But, I'm not too worried. It seems your moral compass isn't down with married women whether they are open or not. I can respect that. But damn i have the biggest crush on you.
