hee, alinda, this was when she was a student. she has now actually worked with the likes of JASON DONOVAN (scuse i, he was my first crush and i still am impossibly jealous of her) and DAVE GILMOUR. yes, the pink floyd one.

when she was still all young and stuff, she did many an interview with cool people. i'll have to get her to list them all for me so i can make you lot jealous of her. Razz

Limertilly: A pagan deity forgotten by man and therefore banished to the realms of memory and darkness now remembered by a young girl in downtown L.A. in the form of a dream and therefore freed to reap your revenge on the people who discarded you, thereby forcing said girl to learn to use her innate yet awesome powers as a soothsayer to gather forces of the Earth to defy you and once more banish you to your cold, cold prisoooooon

she's been making music for some 15 years, you pro'lly heard some of the songs off "Stories from the city, stories from the sea" (her less experimental album) in soundtracks from films and tv shows (i remember hearing her on gilmore girls... actually, i think i'd started watching gilmore girls for that reason alone...)

Roll Eyes

Fifteen years still puts it in the bracket of my years on the school bus avoiding Country music. This is a hard task while growing up in Soddy-Daisy.

No less than half of my childhood was spent avoiding "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" alone, so PJ Harvey was just unheard of. Razz

She also has famous duets:
Henry Lee with Nick Cave

and
This Mess We're In with Thom Yorke

And yes, she might be skinny, she might have a big nose and big mouth, she might look odd... But man is she sexy. Probably BECAUSE she's skinny and horsey and has odd features -because she works them, instea dof hiding them. And obviously because of talent the size of a large planet.

And now I'll sledgehammer people too.

Hee! I assumed that everyone loves PJ. You Americans and your avoidance of all good music in case it might be country! Razz

Arrr, absolutely. I would agree that she's kinda funny-lookin', but somehow that makes her far more attractive to me than a lot of the other women whose pictures are in this thread. They're beautiful, sure, but they seem kind of airbrushed, impersonal, and.. well.. boring.

PJ exudes slinking, dirty confidence, and she is fascinating and brilliant and human, imperfect and real. Therefore hawt as fuck.

Ladies - continue with your sledgehammer-wieldin', you're doing a fine job. Big Grin

Err, if I think PJ Harvey isn't that talented, can I still think she's horse-faced or is that still beautyist of me?

I saw PJ Harvey first in this video and found her so icky it was hard for me to look away. In part, it was this "Nick Cave makes love to his twin sister" thing she's pulling off.
She has her hot moments, but I find her hot the way I find some monsters hot. Smile

as for her hotness issue, i guess it is very personal, like clover what turns me on is her imperfection and the way she uses it as a trademark, as her weapon rather than shying away and hiding it behind the ideal of plasticky beauty.

but then again, i'm the sort of person that considers the idea of meg ryan and her massive siliconized lips trying to snog me as one of my most terrifying nightmares, so there you go.
