this is a physical meh rather than a mental meh, so i don't need sympathy, i just need somewhere to moan

i had my sixth injection this morning since last monday. and it hurt. apparently they are running out of places on my arms so they will just get more painful.
but i can deal with pain-what i can't deal with is how ill they're starting to make me feel. it's probably psychological in part but i feel totally whacked out and quite nauseous. i went to the gym last night and couldn't do anything, which was so frustrating-i like working out, it makes me feel good and healthy and well, but last night it just made me feel exhausted and ill. let it end soon!

(for those of you who don't know, these are vaccine injections for my RTW trip-i'm not hideously ill or anything!)

Thanks for adding the info at the end, Fion, I was already wondering what it was... How many more injections will you have? I know they're ghastly, but they beat hepatitis. Is the doctor able to tell you how long you will have the side effects for?

Yeah, you feel dead crappy for a few days, but hey, you'll be all over the world in less time than it takes to shake a stick.

3 more with my doctor (the last one of rabies, jap encephalitis and hep b) and i need to book yellow fever somewhere else. i'm not sure about the side effects, i'm hoping they'll be short lived. i've got a bit of a gap before my next ones so i should have time to recover Smile

Feeling meh. I'm at work and I don't really want to be. I've burned through all the work that J left to get it done and over with so I don't have to use my brain for the rest of the night. Thankfully, it was nearlly all phone calls and the only person I actually reached (not an answering machine,) didn't speak any English.

I have the slightest twinge of a headache. Too much crying, I think.

*sigh*

okay, so I know I teach middle school, but does that mean my co-workers have to act like it too? I had this one friend who I taught with that I got along great with...we were always goofing off and laughing and we hung out outside of school....there was another girl we also always hung out with. Now, she totally ignores me--straight face, doesn't hardly even say hello anymore. I mean, this is someone i've gone bra shopping with....i thought we were actual friends.

i have no idea what i did or why she's decided that i am not "cool" anymore, but it is driving me nuts! I feel like I am in 7th grade and I have been dropped by the cool girl. She is still nice to our other friend. WTF? maybe it has nothing to do with me, and she is just going through crap, but still! I hate when people keep everything in and are mean whilst doing it! I would rather have a friend burden me with their problems then with their indifference...

Can you adress it? Like "we don't seem to hang out anymore. What happened?"

And I totally understand. Would drive me nuts, too.

yeah, it's the most immature bullshit you can do, to cold clock someone that way. And acting like that really does take you back to school.

poor you.
It sucks.

I had exactly the same experience a few years back with someone that I considered a good friend just...dropping me one day. Seriously, the weekend before I helped her with her birthday party, even brought most of my CD collection for the party and left it at her place after it, and the following week she just completely stopped contact. She wouldn't even return my calls reminding her that she still had my CDs.

To this day, I have no clue what happened--I even bumped into her one day a year later and asked her if I had done something to make her avoid me, and she just shrugged and said she couldn't remember.

Sometimes I think people just...play each other out. Someone told me there are friends for a reason and friends for a season...perhaps your season with her was over?

as to the friends for the reason, season bit--I can totally see that.

And you know what? even if I am taking it personally and it is really because of some inner turmoil she is having, I don't think I would want someone who was so emotionally shut off in my life, anyways. What's the point? what's the value of someone who won't let you in? The other girl we were friends with lies, anyways. Not about bad things, she lies to make things seem prettier or nicer than they actually are because she wants to believe that. It's weird--for instance, when she was with her husband, she told me he loved me because I had my own opinions and stood up for myself...after the divorce she confessed he really hated me and thought i was too opinionated. It's really weird...why lie? why not just say nothing? It isn't like it matters...i think she lies to convince herself.
What a bunch of weirdos. I think the season has passed and I need to look towards greener friend pastures with people who are a bit more like me.

I agree that friends are just weird sometimes. Some of them you won't see for years and you meet up and it's all good. Some you don't see for a week and it's death...
