Okay, now I'm curious about you guys. I'll see you on my stalker list.

You know, while dating is still the main (failing) idea, I really do get a lot of amusement just poking around the site. The flagmod function is especially good for generating amusement, if only in a I-feel-sorry-for-humanity way.

Mine.

I'm sure most people on the board will be above 50 as friends - we're just too likeable!

Hooligan 66% match for friends only 50% overall though I haven't answered that many questions.

CancerDusk 78% friend 77% overall

me + hooligan = 82% friends (nice bedhead, btw)

me + Ava = 78% friend

Black Jacque seems to have stalkers turned off.

Ever message the people who score high on enemies? I did once... I told her she was my biggest enemy in the world and that she should watch her back. Never got a response. I guess it would figure that my biggest enemy would have zero sense of humor.

I prefer to live in a country that's small, and old, and where no one would ever have the NERVE to wear a cape in public, whether they could leap tall buildings in a single bound or not.

trolls are like pigeons..keep feeding them and they keep coming back and shitting in your street.

Hehe, I'm a fan of the "silly boy" projects - I think the world would be a much more interesting place if more people actually did more stuff like that Smile

I can't believe I got sucked into this thread... and for the heck of it searched for guys in my area. There's a classmate of mine on there. One I kind of like, as a potential friend anyway. Groan. Why did I do that? Now I'm going to look at him all funny. Frown Roll Eyes

Okay. Finally got a date out of this thing. Because of the new QuickMatch rating system, I got matched with this cute girl who didn't write anything in her brief summary section but some light bulb jokes. I replied to her profile with a joke in a similar vein about grad school, since that was something we both had in common, not really expecting a reply from her, as no one seems to find me as funny as I do. To my surprise, she did respond, and we started up a conversation about school and such. Turns out, she does some interesting psychology research. I mentioned that I had just finished up the bulk of my thesis proposal and she suggested going out to celebrate. So we met up briefly for drinks on Thursday. She seems really cool so far and we have tentative plans for next weekend (we both just hit the busy part of the semester), so I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Cross your fingers for me.

Anyway, the QuickMatch thing helped, because it let me know that there was at least a little bit of interest before I e-mailed her, but I think this worked out this time because I wasn't trying too hard and was just having fun, joking with someone in a similar situation as me.

Or you have artist friends that rope you into being their guinea pig and get some really nice pictures of it.

Well, just out of curiosity I created a profile too. Mostly it was out of curiosity, and the possibility of finding a Tango partner.

You've never needed a 'head shot' for a publicity blerb at work for your alumni or company newspaper?

"Cancer Dusk has been promoted to Director of the Loading Dock. He graduated with the University class of '85 from the College of Arts and Sciences."

They also make great Judeo-Christian Holiday prezzies to Mom, your auntie Minnie, and for your girlfriend's desk at work to ward off poachers.

Mum: "This is picture of my boy CancerDusk, before he went to prison for GBH with intent after glassing that slag from the church choir in the pub."

Its also not uncommon for people to now put a pic on their CV to clarify their sex and ethnicity without having it appear on paper.

"Hmmmm... 'CancerDusk', man or women? I can never tell with those Paki names. Put it in the Wog pile."

In general, you can get a lot of mileage out of a single well done, professional pic of yourself all cleaned up. The photographer can even make you look 'better than life' the way they do for food and models in advertising.

"Lets see, whiten the teeth, and get rid of the spots. You know you have long nose hair? I think you'd look better with bluer eyes."

And, it doesn't cost a lot of money.

"For a Tenner, I'll make you look like a movie star."

Heh. Yeah, I see what you're saying. Okay, there are a few reasons to have professional pictures lying around. I just didn't think of them.

Thanks!

I just now, at this moment, finally figured out what's going on in your avatar. Am I going insane?
