thanks for the hugs Smile

i don't want to go through tomorrow. i'm all ooky feeling about it, stressed as hell, and in need of de-stressing, not piling more stress on.

Limertilly: A pagan deity forgotten by man and therefore banished to the realms of memory and darkness now remembered by a young girl in downtown L.A. in the form of a dream and therefore freed to reap your revenge on the people who discarded you, thereby forcing said girl to learn to use her innate yet awesome powers as a soothsayer to gather forces of the Earth to defy you and once more banish you to your cold, cold prisoooooon

I'm scared and anxious about so many things, most of which I know logically I shouldn't be. Depression has settled in (thanks in large part, I suspect, to pregnancy hormones) and I'm just feeling sad. Lonely. Tired. Meh.

Thanks Fionn.

Also hugs TG.

I'm restraining myself from physically harming my landlord. I can't even take a walk because the weather's crap. Just hope she does n't come back in the next hour.

Sometimes patrons want to go where everybody knows their names, though it helps when half of them are named John. When people want to celebrate, or commiserate, they gather to your establishment. You provide the atmosphere, the warmth, rum, and even an ear to bend. Did I mention the rum? Years before the language will be mangled with terms like facilitator and networking and interpersonal communication, you've overseen it all, and broken up a few bar fights, to boot.~

I submitted the paperwork for my tuition reimbursement yesterday. My company is paying for my masters degree. They've strung me along for 7 years. I went to school for 3 years. Recession hit. "We can't pay anymore." I stop. Recession ends. I start back up last fall.

They're not really interested in educating me. Only getting a tax break. The IRS allows $5400 per year to be deducted for tax purposes. That's the max they will reimburse. A 3 credit course at University of Michigan's College of Engineering while only attending part time is ~$3900(Full time students get lower rates. Nice, huh?)

So when I started back up after the recession, I needed 4 classes to complete my degree. I take the first in the fall of 2011. They should reimburse me in full in that calendar year. I submit paperwork at the end of December after I receive my grade. They process it in January. Now I'm worried the class I just finished will only be reimbursed partially because they processed the fall class late. With the baby coming, I don't have an extra $3000 laying around.

They also have me sign away my freedom for this reimbursement. I have to stay 2 years after they reimburse me or I have to pay them back in full. I understand why they do this, but it feels like indentured servitude.

If they screw this semester up, I'm very tempted to tell them to shove it. I'll pay for the last two classes on my own, even if I rack up debt. I then no longer owe them two years or any gratitude. And the next time our CEO claims they care about developing our people, I'll laugh in his face.

*sigh*

I have better things to worry about than this. It shouldn't be this difficult to get an education.
