With all due respect, Mister Question Mark, we could change everyone's karma to 0, and I think after a week everyone would have forgotten about it.

This is a discussion board. People discuss ... a variety of topics. Some are fluff, some are not.

WTF is karma? (in the non-spiritual sense)
Shows how much I pay attention....

If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story.

To influence a person is to give him one's own soul. He does not think his natural thoughts, or burn with his natural passions. His virtues are not real to him. His sins, if there are such things as sins, are borrowed. He becomes an echo of some one else's music, an actor of a part that has not been written for him. The aim of life is self-development. To realize one's nature perfectly that is what each of us is here for.

You are a punctuated mishap. Or possibly a mispunctuated disaster. Or even more likely a hyphen!

~You are a *Taverner*.
Sometimes patrons want to go where everybody knows their names, though it helps
when half of them are named John. When people want to celebrate, or commiserate,
they gather to your establishment. You provide the atmosphere, the warmth, rum,
and even an ear to bend. Did I mention the rum? Years before the language will be
mangled with terms like facilitator and networking and interpersonal communication,
you've overseen it all, and broken up a few bar fights, to boot.~

Limertilly: A pagan deity forgotten by man and therefore banished to the realms of memory and darkness now remembered by a young girl in downtown L.A. in the form of a dream and therefore freed to reap your revenge on the people who discarded you, thereby forcing said girl to learn to use her innate yet awesome powers as a soothsayer to gather forces of the Earth to defy you and once more banish you to your cold, cold prisoooooon

That riddler guy is kinda of a downer and he has the costume all wrong. Unless it is from the new cartoon show. I am not familiar with that costume yet.

Loretta as always your heart is in the right place but your spleen is just so wrong.

The problem with all you people is you never ask yourself the important questions.

Like:

How do my words and actions affect Lan?
How can I make the world a better place for Lan?

But my expectations for the souls on this board have always been low and as of let they have never been exceeded.

Your favorite band sucks.
If you thought they were cool, they're not anymore. I just read on Pitchfork that they signed to a major label/switched to another major label and their next album is a total watering down of their sound/just like their first album only worse.

if you knew they were uncool but were trying to be ironic, it dosen't work. they just suck

if your favorite band is David Bowie or Tom Waits, too bad... they're about to do an album of duets with pop stars. like, American Idol pop stars. who all suck.

my favorite band is better then your favorite band... which isn't hard because, as noted, your favorite band sucks

that band you hate, though? they're the best band in the world, and i'm going to post lyrics to all their albums on the Lyrics thread and sick half their tracks on the CD Circle and start dating the lead singer/guitarist/roadie's third cousin. sorry

LON (Like all of you) is showing his insecurities about his taste in music and needs validation instead of just listening to what he likes.
I am slightly disappointed but not entirely surprised by this.
It is sad that the people on this board are so easily influenced.

If i was so insecure, why did I mention the singer who i use as my avatar?

Lan's false populism hides a deeped seated insecurity; he is afraid to make any firm statements of musical judgement because he's afraid they'll be wrong, so he just pretends to like everything

Arguing about music eventually turns out to be pointless. Music was made to be listened to and shared and ultimately to sell cars and beer.
I will let my record speak for itself. There is a lot of music I do not like and I have made quite a few posts to that effect. I will admit that I usually withhold my comments of criticism because I just do not see what the point would be. I am not likely to change other's minds on music through words and they are not likely to change mine.

man... its no fun if you're going to be reasonable

selling cars and beer is not reasonable, though. selling out is WRONG unless the artist really needs the money. were i witty as my avatar, i would say something... actually, Waits' last quote on not selling out was pretty stupid

but he didn't sell out, dammit!

unless you count Shrek

which i don't!

yeah! FIGHT THE MAN!

also, Dungeons and Dragons sucks. too much math. dosen't support narrative, character-driven storytelling. WAY TOO MUCH MATH and shit to remember
