Nobody can pronounce it right. Are you writing this down? Every word? Good. Where shall I start…mm?"

I hope I don't sound stupid for saying this, but the addendum at the bottom is a joke, right?

I don't get this addendum thing. I was just sighting one of my favorite line in Cthulhu. What's wrong with that?

And how come an addendum just suddenly appeared in the message board when I entered my message here? How did it happened? Hope someone can explain it to me. Thanks!

Why can't you just tell me your opinion about Gaiman's story? It would be much better if we talk about it than this non-sense things. Am I right guys?

Abblaze, I think they just meant that the last bit of the article, about the collaboration between Lovecraft and Wodehouse, is not real.
I had not read the story -I quite liked it, especially since I could never take Lovecraft very seriously. Maybe if I discovered it a bit younger, but reading about barrel-shaped submarine monsters was always a bit ridiculous.

Well abblaze, yeah, what Clover said. HP asked if the followup letter at the end of the story was a joke or not, you got sarcastic. You want us to state our opinions, but you haven't said yours. Do you want us just to say 'yes I liked it' and move on, which doesn't inspire much conversation, or is there some aspect of the story you want to discuss?
Maybe you didn't read the story online and don't know what he's referring to. Just in case, I'll clarify - I Cthulhu originally appeared in a small press magazine called Dagon. The following issue had a letter from Neil with a follow-up deadpan joke about a Cthulhu musical (which is what HP was asking about)

Ok. I get your point guys... I've actually read the story. Half of it. I do like Gaiman's style in writing but you're right, Chica_Lingstika! Even until now.. I cannot imagine in my head how Cthulhu looks like. Is he a monster of some sort? Everytime I think of Cthulhu... an octopus or a squid suddenly pops into my head.. because Gaiman describe it with tentacles.. I haven't really read the whole story.. But I'll try to finish it one of these days... Wink

I might be wrong here, but I think abblaze is not a native English speaker (or maybe I'm wrong and I just dug a deep pit for myself...). I got the impression (s)he was genuinely confused.

Clover, I haven't read the whole story. I haven't seen that follow-up letter too. That's why, I don't have any reaction to this:
"HP asked if the followup letter at the end of the story was a joke or not, you got sarcastic."
Do you understand me now?
