Posted How many versions of this poem are there? I was doing a report on it for my english class when I discovered that the text on the endicott studio website http://www.endicott-studio.com/cofhs/chTheWhiteRoad.html is quite different from the text in Smoke and Mirrors. Was this a mistake? Was the text changed for Smoke and Mirrors? If anyone knows anything I would greatly appreciate their help =^.^= Doom-Kitten

Posted Hide Post I don't believe it is an intentional difference, but a mistyped version. There are a few punctuation and small dropped words through the piece which suggest whoever typed it in didn't read over the text to make sure they got it right. The huge difference which you refer to, of course, is the missing climax, the twist of the tale/tail, which I can't imagine Neil ever leaving out on purpose.

In the past few days, we've been getting a *huge* amount of Notifications that are bouncing back to the mod email. If you've noticed that you haven't been receiving your normal notifications (ie, new posts, private messages, etc), please make sure that gaiman.board.mods@gmail.com is in your email's safe list. The majority of the bounce-backs seem to be coming from hotmail addresses, so if you've got a hotmail email, please make sure we're in your address book, even if you don't have notifications set up.
