I found an archived topic for this...
I read in Neil's journal that tonight BBC Radio3 will play Mr. Punch. I think I'll be able to get it by satellite, but I am wondering if there's a chance for me to record it... will I be able to record the play on a tape? Or will I have to put an external recorder near the TV -- horrible result, in my opinion... Or maybe, again, is there an existing CD of this radio play? I'm sorry for all these questions and for asking maybe trite or yet discussed items, but I am more or less new at this and I hope you'll have a little patience and... Oh, well. Thanks to whoever will be able to help me... Make my Dream come true... |

I was wondering myself about how to record it. There is not an existing CD. I looked up the archived thread, and it was hijacked by a discussion about the Signal to Noise CD, the other graphic novel of Neil's adapted by the BBC. That one was put onto CD, so I wouldn't be surprised if this one was too, but I haven't heard anything official yet.

Thanks GMZoe, I'll stay tuned hoping for further suggestions or news.
I have just 7 hours left to the radio play... hours that I'll spend mostly at work, unable to find better solutions to my questions, but strongly hoooping in community's ideas! Make my Dream come true... |

If you're listening to it via satellite then you should be able to hook up a recording device to the audio output of your T.V. / Radio - headphone socket should work or a speaker output.

Wow, I'd totally missed this, thanks for pointing it out
Radio 3 also streams over the internet, and there's software which will record off an incoming stream for you. Also, it's going out as part of The Wire of Radio 3, so it'll probably be available on streaming audio from the BBC website for a while after it is broadcast (usually a month I think) |

Yeah, wow, both your last posts are great!
I will try to record the play from satellite and also from the internet. If none of these efforts will work it out, well, I'll wait for the CD release... Thanks a lot, guys, I will let you know! Make my Dream come true... |

Oh... sigh...
Once I arirved home, I found out that I am not able to record the play, since I haven't the right cable to connect my pc to a recorder. Umpf... I will try on a later time, once BBC will release the recording of the play on the internet or by CD. Sigh... Make my Dream come true... |

You can record direct onto your PC using something like http://www.freecorder.com/
freecorder is limited to 30minutes recording unless you register it for 20 dollars, but you could probably do something. EDIT: Actually you can download a free demo of replay radio which is only limited to an hour, which should do. This message has been edited. Last edited by: denver, |

Wow, great news again
Unfortunately, I can deeply appreciate the music playing, but I definitely cannot understand a single word... I'd need a script or something... LOL! I'm really boring! Make my Dream come true... |
