think there ever will be?
Door, de Marquise, and Richard seem too good of charecters to let simply fall through the cracks... again for the latter.

and i for one would love to see a second

Welcome to the boards stiggmatta! You originally posted this topic in the Message Board FAQ, which we reserve for questions about the message board itself; this is the forum where we talk about all the works of Gaiman that don't have their own forum.

I believe Neil has mentioned several ideas he's had for expanding the Neverwhere idea, and I'm all for it. I do dearly hope that they can do a better job, writing and effectswise, similar to the update that Doctor Who has had.

In Fragile Things, Neil said he'd been working on a novella for Neverwhere called "How the Marquis Got His Coat Back" or something. But he also said he stalled out on it. Frown

I hope there's another Neverwhere novel soon but I'm afraid it won't be until a little while.

Neverwhere was broadcast in 1996. Neil started a novella 'How The Marquis Got His Coat Back' which wasn't finished. He also mentioned a novel follow up called 'The Seven Sisters' but he has no idea when he'll get around to it. And, of course, the film rights have been optioned for the last decade (I believe it's still in the Henson hands).

Please...for the love of all things holy...please let whomever's in charge come up with a better name than "Neverwhere 2". Or, better yet, don't make it. Not my fave, not even close. Oh, yes yes, it's good, blah blah blah. It's just...well, it's "just...". But what do I know?

he mentioned in his blog either today or over the past few days "The Seven Sisters". I just finished Neverwhere which was my first Gaiman story at all. I really enjoyed it. Light and very clever which was exactly my mood right now. Smile
