Gaiman tackles black hole

~
I prefer to live in a country that's small, and old, and where no one would ever have the NERVE to wear a cape in public, whether they could leap tall buildings in a single bound or not.

when's spring due?.

This is going to be really interesting. I've read just snippets of Black Hole. I'll have to check it out from the library.

Didn't he say something about a new short film in his journal the other day?

In general, it seems like Neil's got a lot going on in the film industry right now. Mirrormask is out on DVD. Beowulf's been shot. Stardust's in pre-production (or is it production?). Black Hole and Death are in pre-production/being written.

I hope we get to see lots more nifty Gaiman moive stuff. Will we see both Beowulf and Stardust in 2007? That'd be a killer year!

Wow, and what a subject too. He's not playing with half measures.

I had a short dream last night that I was seeing the trailer for Stardust the movie (or it might have been Beowulf). Is it out yet? (I know it's not, I just can't wait to see it).

Uh, are you people sure that Neil is the right guy to do this? Sure, he can really do anything! But when I READ "Black Hole," I found it quite disturbing and a pretty nasty, it's very different from his usual work and him doing another sexual SF thing is...well, his work that deal with those issues such as his story 'Forgein Parts' I'm just saying that probably 70% percent of all that shouldn't be there...of course, this is all MY opinon but the thought of him doing Black Hole for me is nearly impossible

To answer your question, chimeer, no, it's not out yet; I don't like who they chose for Tristan Throne...I think Layke Anderson could've done a better job

I saw that they are where they are going to be making a movie for Stardust. I hope they do a good job with that. Such a fun little book. I didn't know about it till I was getting ready to go on R&R. I found the book in Mosul of all places. It was a nice way to start my leave!

That's the problem. I can see an AMERICAN GODS film, an ANASI BOYS film and maybe occasionally I'll see a GOOD OMENS film. But Stardust...not the type to be adapted.
I think some books are too beatiful and well-written to be put on screen

I also have utter faith in the man, anything he writes will be brilliant. However, the problem comes when A) his books are adapted and he doesn't write the script B) the director takes things in the wrong direction or C) both A and B. But I must admit, I would have loved to see Terry Gilliam's Good Omens, it seems like the perfect sort of match.

yes this is very true...and yes i agree, i so badly would like to se Good Omans made into a film, i believe they can do it and there must be many people who will support the makings of the film to the correct impacts of the book...

So wait, what you're saying is that American Gods and Anansi Boys are not beautiful or well-written enough and that's why they can be made into films :P *just teasing*

I can very well see Anansi Boys made into a movie more than the two others.

I asked Neil about this back on January 26th, before it had been announced. His reaction was priceless. ^_^

Between Neil's treatment of adolescence and his treatment of dark-ish sex (sometimes in the same story), I expect good things from his adaptation of Black Hole.

Oh, yeah. I remember seeing that before! Neil's surprised reaction to your question was quite funny. Kudos to you.
