My dear forum goers, once gain i disrupt my cyclopean record of continuous lurking for a quick semi-sensical post, only to drift back into virtual unbeing....<boing>...ehm...err..

I come to you today for an advice. I've recently created a personal Portfolio Site, with one of the works being a redesign of Gaiman's Neverwhere. It was a student project that included designing of the cover, illustrations, page layout, printing and binding of the actual book. I put a short notice on the site explaining that it was merely an academic exercise. I also reduced the image-size to the point where the text is illegible. Do you think it's enough? Do I need to seek Neil's permission (and how can I go about doing that). Thanks

Hey, great! I like how you link back to his website. I don't know much about permissions and all. The academic exercise explanation seems clear enough to me but from what I've read on his blog he'd probably appreciate you giving him a heads up via his FAQ thingie.

(trying to imagine Mr. Gaiman appearing cross... hmmm...)

I can't help with the question at hand, but I wanted to say, those are absolutely gorgeous!

I browsed on your site a bit. I really like your stuff. Very diverse and evocative.

A pain in the bum to bind though. Bedside Bookbinding is quite a chore Smile

Oh, that is lovely. Do not try to sell the thing and I think you'll be fine with the publishers (but do try to get on the publisher's payroll so we can see your excellent covers in stores).

If Neil responds with the OK, please post a larger image.
