I've always pictured Bill Nighy as Crowley. I think he'd be great.

Please check it out, it is an amazing book (series of books) told in a matter of fact nonsensical way, i couldn;t put it down.

and with regards to filming line up I always though that it should be English actors alll the way, excluding Depp and Williams (sadly as both would be brilliant), but keep it in the family kind of

Ad absurdum

Some thoughts on roles:

Crowley: John Cusack, Johnny Depp, or David Tennant
Aziraphale: Patrick Stewart or Colin Firth
Anathema: Christina Ricci?
Newton: Martin Freeman
Agnes: Dame Judi Dench
Hastur (The smaller one?): Steve Buscemi
Ligur (the larger one?): ... not sure
War: Angelina Jolie
Famine: Bill Nighy
Pollution: Mackenzie Crook
Death: Ian McKellan
Madame Tracy: Penelope Wilton
Shadwell: Paul Dillon?
Brother Francis: Mark Addy
The Metatron: Alan Rickman (tradition)

I am okay with some of the non-humans being non-British, but the principals should be natives. I do not see Robin Williams in here... sorry, I just don't. Love him as an actor, but no role for him here. Also, while I love Johnny Depp, he is my last choice for Crowley - too straight forward for him.

more to come...

Crowley - Definitely John Cusack.
Aziraphale - Yep, Colin Firth
The Metatron - LOL about the Alan Rickman tradition. Heh. Yep.
War - Yep, I don't see how it could be anyone other than Angelina.
