So, when neil posted the link to listen to Mr. Punch on bbc, I did, but i really didnt understand what was going on half the story.

I just read the book and wow, its seriously such a strong story and daves artwork is just insane.

I was wondering though, whose acctually seen a punch and judy show? I never have, they dont have things like that where I grew up. I felt very sheltered cuz I have never heard of a punch and judy show until i heard of neil gaimans book.

I'd also like to ask if anybody else had the same stomach turning appreciation for it? It engulphed me. I don't think a comic has really ever made me tense like that before. SOme sandman issues made me squirm a bit, but never like this, the tension was so thick as i read, i thought i was losing my mind.

I too think this is one of, if not the most, intense works Mr. Gaiman has written. And while I love the artwork and think it adds greatly to the presentation of the story, I know NG could've written it and as powerfully without the art. It's a painful, amazing story. Glad to find a fellow fan of it!

Has anyone got the BBC broadcast as an MP3 file? Or can I download it somewhere? I'd love to hear this - Mr Punch is perhaps my favourite Gaiman/McKean cooperation.

Do you read Neil's blog thirith? He linked it at two different times where it was available for a week on the BBC radio site. No official downloadable version yet though

*hangs his skull in shame* I used to read his blog, but I stopped because I was trying to save time... Frown When BBC did the Quandary and Quintessential Phases of Hitchhiker's Guide, I downloaded the files and converted them to MP3, so I was wondering whether anyone around here has done the same for Mr Punch. I doubt there'll be an official downloadable version.

Did you listen to it, GMZoe?

Never had the time! The idea of sitting by my computer for an hour just listening wasn't very palatable to me :P I wouldn't disparage too much the idea of it never coming out. After all, the Signal To Noise radio drama was released on CD.

Oh, I am sure it'll come out on CD sooner or later. I just would have liked to listen to it before I go out and buy it, as I did with the two last Hitchhiker's Guide series.
