sorry, a little slow on the uptake this weekend. Right, nothing is coming out, least of all a movie based loosely on a certain english blond, chain smoking demon fighting dude.

just tell the person you have to hand it into, smaug told you it didn't matter, that should work.

Just read the comic adaptation of the movie.
Just rewatched the trailer
It looks like a crap movie.

Didn't read his solo series, just Moore's run in Swamp Thing where he debuted. But, gah, I hope that his cross shaped Holy gun and Holy brass (well, blessed gold) knuckles weren't from the comic. Even if they were, they come off as corny as all ...hell...

hey! i think... those spoiled things you said are utterly awesome in certain contexts, but maybe thats 'cause i'm playing Castlevania and various RPGs

in Hellblazer... not so much

still, if this turns out to be a good movie of supernatural asskicking and badassitude... i should still see Hellboy first, since i haven't seen that, and wait for this to show up on TV

yeah, the cross shaped gun can be cool in certain contexts. in trigun, wolfwood had this very cool and multifuntional cross.the long leg was a machine gun, 8 pistols were hideen in one of the arms and a rocket launcher in the short arm. still, it's quite unconstantinelike, imho.

and let's face it, even if the script was awesome, keanu... gah.

Well, I'm still planning on seeing the movie, but it's a low priority now. May not get around to it. Frankly *spoilers* The story twists with the villain is so cliche.. More specificly early in the film they set up a character who is suppossedly good, the angel Gabriel, and by the time you've forgotten him, he comes back as a baddie. I've just seen that set up too many times. You learn to recognize it.

On one hand, yes. On the other hand, the end was rather clunky. I mean *spoilers* The whole bit with the second key wasn't exactly subtle. From the point the second key was made, you knew what would happen. Plus, I first watched that, what, 8 or 9 years ago when I wasn't as familiar with the set up and didn't know how to look for it

I just read a thing about Constantine in 'Film', some British film magazine. It addresses the fact that most fans are annoyed about the movie. However, it explained some changes:

LA is for a noir feel. Makes sense, though you can have a great London noir (imagine a young Micheal Caine as Constantine!)

the name. they'd worry moviegoers would get Hellblazer mixed up with Hellraiser, the Clive Barker film. makes sense, though more literate moviegoers may assume they're seeing a historical epic like Alexander and, er, emo kids will be reminded of that emo song....

the rest: they talk about JC being a hard-drinking, smoking, messed up, nasty anti-hero... and i hate to admit it, but the still they showed looked pretty badass. JC and Djomon Honshu, as Papa Midnight, looked scary and badass. they did say he was more magician then conman, though, which bugged me

pretty good... but a letdown after reading the mag's cover story on Batman that talked about Christian Bale carrying Frank Miller TPBs around the set and getting into Batman's skin and showed him looking EXACTLY like Batman should look...

just a thought: DC is trying to redeem their movie image after the pounding they've taken from Marvel and their own Catwoman. anyone think it'll work? Batman's going to ROCK, at least

i love how everything you just said made perfect sense in the context of the story... and rocked. i think Alucard from Hellsing has something similar, and carving crosses on bullets is a nice vamp killing tactic

thats another thing: the filmmakers took great pains to point out that this isn't Van Helsing
