The Sandman, if the entire collection counts, if not, then one of the short story collections.

The Sandman - but only because of the size.
As for a favorite story by Gaiman, I really love "Hold Me" from Hellblazer #27. Absolutely my favorite single issue of all time. Just heart wrenching. If you haven't read it, I believe it is available in Midnight Days. A little too sad for a dessert island Smile

Without a doubt, Neverwhere. I can always close my eyes and see the Sandman. I could start my own personal cult based on Good Omens. But if I'm the only one on the island, what good would that do. So the answer has to be Neverwhere.

For me it's a toss up between Stardust and Dust Covers. Okay, I realize Dust Cover's isn't really a book, but the intro has words. and ALL those pretty pictures...

Hmmmm. Yeah, one of those two. Sandman, I've read way to many times and practically have it memorized.

For me, it's definitely American Gods...

Too bad I want to read a lot of other stuff, but I definitely plan to reread AG as soon as possible...

GATTS,

So far, my first choice would be GOOD OMENS, but that is because I have not yet read ANGELS & VISITATIONS, NEVERWHERE, STARDUST & AMERICAN GODS, yet.

Mine would be Neverwhere, I love the sandman books as well, but I just wish that Neverwhere would go on forever. I loved the Mini series too. I love the characters and the whole thought of another world under/parallel to ours. Wait, maybe my favorite is actually Neil's journal, that is something I would really like ot read forever!

It'd have to be The Sandman Library - all ten volumes of it! Much as I'd like to take American Gods or Neverwhere, I'm an incredibly fast reader and I'd just run through either of `em within an hour. Razz

I think that'd be "The Sound of Her Wings".
It just sends shivers down my spine of joy every time I read it.
And I will be able to watch Neverwhere time and time and time again. Croup and Vandemar never cease to amuse me, Door never ceases to enthrall me.

The Sandman, or AG.

Of course I thought Snow Glass Apples was brilliant.

Stardust for me as well. It's not only my favorite Neil book, it may very well be my favorite book period.

Stardust. This is the book that Stephen King tried to write with Eyes of the Dragon. I also like the Troll under the bridge story in Smoke and Mirror's because it made me cry.

Mushrumps and hedgepigs. Tasty.

Smoke and Mirrors.

Snow, Glass, Apples was eerie and spectacular! I'm a short story kind of gal and Smoke and Mirrors quenches all subjects of the imagination.

It´s hard to say...

I think Brief Lives and The Wake from Sandman.

Oh, and The books of magic, I couldn´t live without them.

Whats the name of that story about the Fox and the Monk? It was beautiful. I wish I had my own copy but I can't find it anywhere.

I'd take that one, along with all the Sandman novels and good omens. Sorry, but I can't just choose one!

The one with the fox and the monk was Dream Hunters. Yes, that one was beautiful.

I'm a good omens girl myself - I have two copies, one signed that doesn't leave the house, and one that regularly does as I corupt non neil or terry reading people with it Wink

I prefer to live in a country that's small, and old, and where no one would ever have the NERVE to wear a cape in public, whether they could leap tall buildings in a single bound or not.
