I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with this.

It was 11 years ago that a friend of mine threw a paperback book of short stories in my hand so I would have something to read on a long school field trip. It was a collection of short stories by various authors. One was Stephen King, another was Neil Gaiman, and an assortment of others.

It was some good reading. Particulary the Gaiman story - it was about an Angel who wasn't fallen, exactly, but stuck on Earth. He told the story of how Heaven was designed and constructed, etc. How the angels fell from grace, blah blah blah.

It was great. There were a few other stories in it (One particularly memorable one involved Dorothy returning to OZ, only to find it ravaged by a nuclear holocaust).

But, for the life of me, I can't remember the title of the collection. Anybody have any clue?

Thanks in advance for any help offered...

the story you're talking about sounds pretty much like "Murder Mysteries". unfortunately the only versions i have of that story is the graphic novel and a collection of short stories by neil gaiman, so i can't help you with your book quest, sorry.

hopefully, now that you know the title of the story it will be easier for you to figure it out Wink

now that i think of it, in the introduction of my short stories collection, neil mentions.... hold on a second *runs to check*

here, he mentions writing the story for an anthology called "Midnight Graffiti".
so i tried googling that title and it appears that stephen king wrote something for it as well. in case it rings a bell, here's the amazon page
