i have been on many websites taling about 1602

(which is so amazing, easily my favourite of Gaiman's works)

and mainly looking at the charactor lists (which charactors are meant to be modern day marvel heroes)

and nowhere can i find the connection between Virginia, the young girl, and Snowbird (of alpha flight)

both can transform into white creatures..both have flowing white hair

surely theres a connection there?

Neil claims that it is coincidental. Virginia is mostly based off of legends surrounding the historical girl, who was said to have transformed into a white deer and been killed years after Roanoke disapeared.
My guess is that it is somewhere in between, though.

I highly doubt that there is any connection. For one thing, Neil was very careful about only using characters that were created in the early silver age of marvel. That's why only the original X-Men are present. Also, as Virginia Dare was a real person, and does have "white-animal transformation" legends surrounding her, that seems much more likely.

Also, it doesn't seem too likely that Neil would just lie and say it was coincidental if that wasn't the case.
