I love this CD, but its been copy guarded, so I cant transfer it to my Ipod or my comuter. I dont really really use my cds any more, except to transfer it to my computer.

I would even be willing to buy it again online off of Itunes or whatever if it was available, but I dont see that it is.

Song of the Audience is one of my favorite things ever. Rock on Neil.

You tell 'em. And your language is unforgivable. You'd think that by now they'd know people want to transfer cd's to there iPods.

Don't buy it again. Rise up and protest.

*cough*

Considering the cds came out in 1995, I do not know that their precognicence (sp?) was that considerable.

I checked his blog archives to see if anything was mentioned and I didn't see anything.

My advice? Contact Dreamhaven. They're the folks that published the cd in the first place. They're the ones that need to hear that folks want it available in mp3 format. (their email is : orders@neilgaiman.net)

Other than that, *shrug*. We're a message board. Our magic wand doesn't extend to things unmessageboardly.

You know, this is very strange....I was able to put my copy of the cd on my iPod without any problems.

I've been able to put all of Neil's spoken word cds on my iPod.

Very strange...

That sounds like the CD is damaged... I got mine and can listen to it in my stereo (although it's an old one so it skips at times), from my computer, I copied it into my computer in .wma format and can listen to it in my mp3 player. I even copied that into another CD for my sister to listen (coz she already lost a Sandman old comic issue so I'm not going to let her borrow my precious anymore Big Grin).
Have you trie dit in another computer? I'd do that, and if it's still being rejected, just get in contact with whoever you got it from and ask for a new copy.

I just put it in the computer and imported it into iTunes. I have a Mac and so maybe that makes a difference, but I don't see how it would.

Maybe the newer pressings of the cd are copy protected and the older pressings aren't.

I'm just guessing....I really don't know.

That was my first thought... do you have the most recent release, Mike? Perhaps that one is protected, while the initial run was not.

Hmm, it appears to be a 95 release. The cd isnt damaged in the sense that it doesnt play- it plays fine in a cd player.
I'll try my wifes laptop.

Regardless, its just great stuff isnt it?

it is great... my bro found the 95 edition randomly stuck among some other stuff at the record store that was employing him at the time.

sorta like the fifty cent copy of V for Vendetta he found at a library used booksale.

Some cds are tweaked out in just such a way that they don't like computers, but still play okay in other machines.
