I know this subject has probably been discussed loads and loads but I can't find it on the forum. Sorry!

Anyway, I am new to Neil Gaiman's work after watching Stardust and now reading his books so I wonder if people can help me as I want to buy my boyfriend one of Neil's graphic novels for Christmas and didn't know where to start. Which one is best for someone who hasn't read any graphic novels before? Or which one is most recommended in general?

personally though, although i love the sandman, i've always had a soft spot for the books of magic.

DEFINITELY "The Tragical Comedy or Comical Tragedy of Mr. Punch." (That's the full title, it's usually just "Mr. Punch"). Gaiman wrote it with Dave McKean as the artist, and it's the PERFECT intro for a budding Neil enthusiest.
