I'm retracing my steps now, going back to read everything else written by Gaiman. I must confess, though, that I think Neverwhere will remain my favorite story of his.

I know the feeling! :-)

I've now read American Gods, Smoke and Mirrors, and Stardust. Oh, and Coraline, which I read before I ever read Neverwhere.

I didn't enjoy any of them as well as I enjoyed Neverwhere, to tell you the truth. Then again, I am heavily into escapism at the moment, so perhaps that is coloring my perspective.

I've just discovered this website and message board.

I've also read all of Neil's books and by far my favourite is Neverwhere. I live in London and ever since i read Neverwhere i've been looking out for ways to get down into London below. (Sounds pathetic i know). But London below would be far better than London above.

i've just finished 'Neverwhere' and i think it's brilliant! beautifully written too. i couldn't stop reading it! and i loved the ending, just the way i wanted it to end(:

"What is this thing, anyway?" said the Dean, inspecting the implement in his hands. "It's called a shovel," said the Senior Wrangler. "I've seen the gardeners use them. You stick the sharp end in the ground. Then it gets a bit technical."
