Sorry, I didn't realize there was a whole thread for this. And it won't let me delete my thread, because it says it has replies, even though it hasn't.

well, it'd be nice if it wasn't a frequent topic, but... well, yeah. It's a strange history, this thread - I don't think I could read it from start to finish.

Sorry about the multi posts, too. The board is wierd for me tonight. Both times I tried to post those, I got a message saying the board was inaccessible.

Katharine Hepburn, star of what may be my very favorite movie ever (Bringing Up Baby), died this afternoon.

She had a 20-something year relationship with the married Spencer Tracy, who was the great love of her life. He couldn't obtain a divorce, being Catholic, and the times being what they were. They were very private about the long-term love affair. When he died, she didn't even go to his funeral out of respect to his wife, even though she'd spent over two decades in love with him, and he with her. This was always so sad to me.

What a wonderful, wonderful woman and actress.

Just heard about Katherine Hepburn, wanted to post it ... but now I'll just add my comiserations.

"Bringing Up Baby" is a brilliant movie, one of my all time favourites (along with "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof"). She was a legend. She was brilliant. It's sad that she's dead.

"Aw, crap" is horribly inefficient. I'll really miss her.

I never knew much about Katherine Hepburn except what I heard from others. I never saw any of her movies.

1. Shut of the Internet.
2. Rent "African Queen" and "Long Days Journey Into Night."
3. Watch both movies.

That goes for anyone who's never watched the divine Ms. Hepburn.

"Bringing Up Baby" is one of my favorite movies. I'll just start wailing "oh, Daaaaaaaaaavid!" just for the hell of it. And I frequently sing "I can't give you anything but love" to my cat.

Her autobiography, "Me", was the first and only biography I ever paid full price for.

She's the sort of person that just made you feel better by knowing she was out there, somewhere, in the world.

She was the sort of woman I always aspired to be.

Ms. Hepburn, these are for you :
