I've always had mixed feelings about Clough. Bit of an arse, but that was his media persona as much as anything. His Hilsborough comments were bang out of order, and down right wrong, but he did apologise (albeit after many years and allegedly only when threatened with losing a media contract if he didn't. Who knows if that's true though).
He was one of the real characters of the game though, and no one can underestimate his achievements -- two european cups speaks for itself. |
