 I'm betting this is how the world felt wen Caruso passed.. last night I heard news that the daughter of a very good friend of mine died from what is believed to be pulmonary adema.. she was 25.. the sad thing s that they were estranged for so long and now that they were finally reaquainting themselves.. sigh... poor Frank.. he's taking it like a trooper.. but what he said is true.. I had the same experience as Remote. I'd read he was doing poorly when I went to bed last night. First thing this morning I see he's died.

I have to say this afternoon it really got to me that Pavarotti is suddenly no more now... I think I liked him most among the male opera singers.

My mother in law. sigh. She'd been ill and bed-ridden for over a year now - dementia, alzheimer's, I don't think they ever really termed it. So part of me feels relieved and then part of me feels guilty for feeling relieved.
Hubby has gone down to be with his Dad. I would have thought the end of the world is everyone's responsibility, wouldn't you? ~Death in Thief of Time Minister of Kraftwerk in the Realm of U & P, Order of the Pineapple with frond for advancement in Nap studies. |

I know what that feels like. I always feel it's wrong to feel relieved at somebody's death, but sometimes it's really for the best & a relief for the people themselves. i know what you mean. I felt that same way when my greatgrandfather died, and again only more strongly when my grandmother died (I was very close to her, but we'd had some arguments late in her life, and in her last days she couldn't speak or move or do anything, only look). It's quite a conflict, but please know that you are not alone.
mine as well. Her books were part of my life as far back as i can remember. Although i knew her health had declined and she was old, i dreaded this day. going to call my mother and make sure she knows. . . . __________________________________ Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the paramedics.  |
