Now we get to see what happens when a reportedly unbalanced and spoiled 20-something gets handed an army, an arsenal of nuclear weapons, and a country on the brink of civil war.

Yay!

I've been sifting through footage all morning, and there are just clips upon clips of people in mourning. But the more I see of them, the more fake they look. It'll just be a room full of people standing in an office building at their desks sobbing and pounding on the walls, but it looks more like bad/forced acting then actual grief.

Well, there's every likelihood Paek'll remain the real power in NK. Assming, of course, the military doesn't attempt a coup.

I'm sure that the grief is partially genuine, partially a ritual display and partially an expression of fear for what will come next. This is a population that has been brainwashed into believing Kim Jong Il was practically a deity and had omniscient power over their lives.
I'm terrified for the people of North Korea, and I hope for the sake of their psyches that if there is a collapse of the infrastructure after this (which I doubt will happen...plenty of back-up dictators willing to take Kim Jong Il's spot and use his son as a puppet) it is a gradual.

Speaking of puppets, I think I'll watch Team America tonight. F**k yeah.

My paternal grandfather died last night. He was 91 and apparently died in his sleep, which is what he wanted- no pain, no hospitals, and no long-term care like my grandmother needed.

He was a STUBBORN man who gave the doctors the finger when they gave him less than a year to live twenty-something years ago.

Merry Effing Christmas, Grandpa. Give 'em hell and tell Grandma I said hi.

ETA: Those of you whom I am FB friends with, not saying anything about it on FB yet because not all family members have been told. Thanks.

You are a Bookholder. To prompt, or...LINE! (not to prompt) --not to prompt. That is the question. Whether t'is nobler to suffer the slings and arrows of a bad memory, or to take arms against a sea of textual deviations, and...LINE! (by opposing) --by opposing them...LINE! (end) --end...LINE! (them) --end them...LINE! (to prompt, to correct; no more; and by a correction to say we end the heart-ache of a really terrible performance) You didn't have to give me the whole thing! I know it!

Our last bunneh was laid to rest just before Christmas

I'm so sad. It's the end of an era for us. We fortified the garden, so they could run around and live in it most of the time, and we called it "Rabbit Heaven". Now all three buns are really in rabbit heaven Frown
