Sad

(and feeling rather guilty that I thought she was already dead)

I wondered why everyone was talking about her on twitter the other day.

She sounds as though she was a wonderful woman.

Tony Benn. Not unexpected, but still, one of those things you never want to happen. http://www.theguardian.com/pol...4/tony-benn-obituary

Facebook can be cruel. Happy Birthday, Joe_3Heads.

Edit to add: or wonderful, I suppose. There is something to be said for starting the day thinking about Joe_3Heads. Smile

It was the four-year anniversary of my mum's death yesterday. You went well in the end, mum. I still miss you, though I am glad for your sake that you are gone.

(I've been listening to Tony Benn reading his diaries on Radio 4. Today was the bit where he talks about his wife Caroline's death. That was a twofer, and I may or may not have cried at the radio.)

My cousin's parents in law came home from their holiday today to find their son had committed suicide.

I only met him a couple of times, but they're probably the branch of my family that I have most in common with and feel closest to. I hate that they've been added to this horrible "club" of people who have been bereaved through suicide, and I hate that it's bringing everything back for my parents, me and my sister. I wish there was a way to make it better for them over the next minutes, hours, days. But I know there isn't. I know they just have to get through it. There's nothing that helps.

Robin Williams.

He had an amazing ability to make people feel seen, even when they'd only met him through films and TV shows. I think that's obvious from the outpouring of sorrow over his death.

I know there are a lot of people out there with depression, and I just want to tell you (again and again) that depression lies, that there are people who love you and would miss you, that life is worth living. If you ever feel like ending things, please please please get help. If you had a broken leg, you wouldn't hesitate. A broken will to live is much more deadly.

It's funny, DM - I haven't been on this board in IDK how long, but wanted to come here for this, too.

Thank you and sweet dreams, Pterry.

I am not on facebook, but I gather from twitter that we have now indeed lost Lester Zombie.

Go well, Mr. Zombie.

You and your beard and your hats and your reflections and your guitars and your way with a camera and your wit won't be forgotten.
