Didn't we have a Netflix queue thread? I can't seem to find it, me of the newly subscribed Netflixer.

Right off the top I've added the Muppet Show Smile and Firefly. I can't wait to stream something at home tonight!

And when I did a search here, I found The Boy (by way of Giabow) recommending Fullmetal Alchemist? Must add that as well.

[ETA]Oooh! And it's streamable! Sweet!

Currently, Doctor Who, the Matt Smith stuff. Streaming stuff? oof, that's all over - Dev watches most of it, there's a British series we started together, but he started watching them without me, so I'm way behind: Primeval. Family Guy (yes, I know, I'm a bad mother. I caved at the Star Wars ep and then just couldn't go back. I can only hope he doesn't have a clue) He watches Johnny Test, The Last Airbender (cartoon, not movie) Scooby Doo, Spongebob. Steve has watched Paranormal State and Penn & Teller's Bullshit.

I recently watched Firefly while I was knitting something. Oh, and Top Gear.

Fullmetal Alchemist sounds interesting.

I love the streaming stuff. The Roku in the bedroom loses signal sometimes and I really should get a long ethernet cord so I can get a direct connection.

Yeah, our TV/home theater is downstairs where the router is, so I'm hoping the wireless works fine for that, just to shave the $$ and time of running an ethernet cable. At twenty feet with direct line of sight, I think I should be fine.

I'm not sure what to try streaming first, but I'm excited by all the offerings!

ZOMG I have 51 movies in my Netflix Instant Play queue. Most of them are things like foreign romance flicks or political documentaries that would make TLOML twitch if I were to ask him to sit through them with me.

La Vie En Rose is streaming on Netflix. Just sayin.

My Netflix queue is full of a bunch of indie and foreign films that Netflix keeps recommending to me. And I've been watching a Bit of Fry and Laurie, I'm so happy they have that on instant watch. There's also a good amount of MST3K in my queue, I'm determined to watch them all eventually.

I did just recently watch Ink, which is available for streaming, and it was a very very good movie.

Ooooh! MST3K!!

I haven't found the Instant Play Queue, so I'm just putting them all in the DVD queue for now. I need to get home and get some code from my home theater system to plug into my account, then it might give me the Instant Play queue?

No, I think it should be available at anytime. If you hold you mouse over where it says "play" a new box comes up saying "add to instant queue."

Oh hell, thanks Moon Jester Smile
Edit: Hmmm, nope, that isn't working either. I'll wait til I get home and activate my hardware, that should do it, I think.

No, you don't need a special promo code...any computer can view the Instant play movies. There's a tab at the top of the screen that says Your Queue after you click that you'll see a red DVD queue tab and a blue Instant queue.

Nope, I don't see that. I have the ability to Instantly Play any of the streaming content, but I don't have an Instant Play Queue. Hmm..

So if you click on a movie, is there no Add to Instant Queue above the Add to DVD Queue? Because that's weird. I had an instant queue even when I was just watching on my computer instead of using Netflix on the Wii. I'd totally send Netflix an email if it doesn't show up after you activate the hardware at least.

Well, not *any* computer - my perfectly acceptable G5 doesn't have an Intel processor and so it refuses to stream movies.

Just finished season two of Sons of Anarchy. Never thought I'd like a show about an outlaw biker gang, but it's like epic good.

I dig Chuck, and Big Bang Theory, and Fringe, and Breaking Bad, The Guild, Nip Tuck, Being Human, True Blood, and My Hero, amongst others.

Indeed. This was a major motivator for me getting a new Mini. However, a Roku is only $69, so unless you really need to watch on your PC, that's the way to go.

ETA (LOL. I had forgotten whether I had an Airbender or Fullmetal Alchemist avatar active right now until I saw my post.)
I don't think it is streamable, but add FLCL to your DVD queue. It's a must-watch. And it's short so it won't tie up the queue for ages, either.

Fooly Cooly. It's a funny and also very strange anime.

Edit: Oh, they actually DO call it FLCL on Netflix. Well then... When it was on TV they always spelled it out as Fooly Cooly.

That's what it's called. It's, ummm, hard to describe. Features include:
  • A charming coming-of-age story
  • Baseball
  • Rock and roll
  • Giant robot mecha battles
  • Too many thinly veiled sexual innuendoes to even count
  • A flying Vespa scooter
  • Weapons made out of classic guitars

"????" is exactly the effect that it evokes.

Oh, I still want a mini, then we can move the Roku back out into the living room. Smile

hmm. I just got an email from Netlfix saying my account charge is going up to $19.99 a month. I can change it to $7.99, but that would limit it to only streaming. Not everything I want to watch is available for streaming.

What is this Netflix of which you speak?
