I'm sorry I could not get back to your response sooner VEGA..

What I was dancing around about is this...

It seemed that B.O. came across as the winner of the debate and people agreed or liked what he said more than J.M..
Now I know that the control subject experiment was held with a sparse amount of people BUT it came off as the subjects that chose J.M. were implying 'I liked everything about B.O., it's just to bad he's black!'

Before I go any further let me answer your question...And forgive me for not outright saying A,B,or C yet.
To riot is an act of pure irrational behavoir,to me.Always the goal is to actually unseat a person, group or law in the favor of the riot-ers.But I always see that in the end people are just letting steam off.I can count on my hand how many RIOTS changed things and never in the same month of the riot. Now a REVOLT that's something else. A good ole tyme revolt would be grand...and then why stop there ,let's go for a good 'ol fashioned COUP D'ETAT. What I'm getting at is governments around the world love riots but a revolt or a coup well now that's messing with JOB SECURITY.

And I got better things to do with my afternoons than being locked up or shot with a firehouse or even washing my eyes out from the tear gas.

Then you got to look at the fact that someone..scratch that...enough people voted for J.M. and now your out-numbered, you no longer have MOB-RULES on your side.

When and if I put my body in harms way I'll do it with the mind set of 'DIE TRYING'.If the elections are held LEGALLY I'm not going to kill, maim or destroy my neighbor or town even though I've got my suspecions about a few of them.

I think the anwser is 'C'.

It's just sad that today racism is just as present as yesterday and so on.It hides behind smiles these days and is held to it's ALTER at the family dinning room, instead of restaurants and community places and at job sites.

This isn't a rant on racism it's a rant on peolpe want change but let's not go crazy enough to elect a different person from us to the white house. If a ZOMBIE has the answers I'll listen and make the same informed vote as I would a living person.I can't say I'm not a rascist under the gudie line of this ...which is very STAR WARS like..

FEAR begats ANGER begats HATE begates SUFFERING.

that really is the same text of the force's path to the darkside.

LUCAS is a ZEN master and a treasure for mankind with messages as simple as that.
I'm getting away fast from the subject but I'm just dumbfounded that the whole situation( back to the test group)wasn't explored more.I really needed to know more of what they heard and I didn't.
But I will say that the closing statement by J.M. was a HAIL MARY of epic proportions...and was caught for a touchdown ,but I feel, on the scoreboard in my head he has to go for 2 to win the game. That last bit from J.M. was an unethical attempt to win people over but it might be the game saver for his team.

Do you remember the closing statements of the debate what did you think about it?

P.S. Ask me about rioting after the elections so I can tell you what I'm wearing on my T.V. debut.

yeah, I think a lot of the Arab/Muslim crap I'm hearing has a lot to do with that. I mean, obviously, being prejudiced against Arabs and Muslims is racist, but I think a lot of these people are turning to this because they can't say out loud that they don't like him because he's black, so they have to find a complaint that's sustainable in our culture.

I finally found The Daily Show clip (and a few more episodes while I was at it), and 'tis hilarious. yay, Jon Stewart!

You should be able to watch any and all clips (and a lot of full episodes) on their homepage at dailyshow.com. Works for me, and I'm outside the US. Wink

Apathy if you mean that you could be a racist thru fear then i agree . I try to understand every angle first then lie in my understand second. Not understanding something and an unwillingness( if that's a word) to try is the birth of this disease. Unfortunely, people jump in at the hate\anger part and bypass the birth all together.
Have you seen the clips of J.M. talking to the crowd, telling them that B.O. is a 'good man...an honorable man' the rally supporters gasped not unlike the sketch in the Dave Chapelle Show, where there was a Klu Klux Klan member that wrote inspiring books for his cause. The shtick was that he was a blind black man and nobody told him he was black. The higher ups said he was to valueable to the cause with his pen. He went to a rally with hood on and at the end was asked to reveal himself to his faithful.....the same gasp from that crowd was heard at the J.M. rally. Then to top it of on a nationally broadcast news Program they showed a lil ol lady from the mid-west asking J.M. how can she trust B.O. when he's an ' A-rab'.
To my surprise J.M. set her straight or as streaight as you can set someone like this.

It's called the Bradley Effect, I believe, after a black politician who led by 6 points in the California gubernatorial election in the exit polls, but ended up losing.

It's had less of an effect on state-wide races recently, but it's why a number of people, myself included, are not confident of the poll numbers.

http://www.amirsahib.com/campbell-brown-so-what-if-obama-was-an-arab-or-muslim

Campbell Scott Brown of CNN titled her commentary with the exact same inner monologue that I have any time someone sneers bout the Obama-being-Muslim rumors.

I just get so disgusted by the thick-headed notion that Muslim=terrorist and/or sympathetic to terrorists and/or anti-Israel.

Muslim= following the path of Mohammed just as Christian= following the path of Christ or
Buddhist= Following the path of Buddha.

It's so disturbing that our country, supposedly founded by people searching for religious freedom and equality, to this day cannot embrace the notion of it.

Here's the text of the commentary if you can't watch the video:
quote:
NEW YORK (CNN) -- You may find it hard to believe that this remains an issue in this campaign, but it does.

The candidates, both candidates, are still getting questions about Barack Obama's ethnicity and religion. If you are even semi-informed, then by now you already know that of course, Barack Obama is an American.

Of course, Barack Obama is a Christian. Yet just a few days ago, there was a woman at a rally for John McCain incorrectly calling Obama an Arab:

Woman at rally: I don't trust Obama. I have read about him and he's an Arab.

Sen. John McCain: No ma'am, no ma'am. He's a decent family man, citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues. That's what this campaign is all about. He's not, thank you.

Now, I commend Sen. McCain for correcting that woman, for setting the record straight. But I do have one question -- so what if he was?

So what if Obama was Arab or Muslim? So what if John McCain was Arab or Muslim? Would it matter?

When did that become a disqualifier for higher office in our country? When did Arab and Muslim become dirty words? The equivalent of dishonorable or radical?

Whenever this gets raised, the implication is that there is something wrong with being an Arab-American or a Muslim. And the media is complicit here, too.

We've all been too quick to accept the idea that calling someone Muslim is a slur.

I feel like I am stating the obvious here, but apparently it needs to be said: There is a difference between radical Muslims who support jihad against America and Muslims who want to practice their religion freely and have normal lives like anyone else.

There are more than 1.2 million Arab-Americans and about 7 million Muslim-Americans, former Cabinet secretaries, members of Congress, successful business people, normal average Americans from all walks of life.

These are the people being maligned here, and we can only imagine how this conversation plays in the Muslim world. We can't tolerate this ignorance -- not in the media, not on the campaign trail.

Of course, he's not an Arab. Of course, he's not a Muslim. But honestly, it shouldn't matter.

It's not Muslim = terrorist, it's different = bad. This is just the latest iteration. As a Muslim friend said after watching Iron Man, "Man, now it's our turn in the barrel."

You're right.

Muslin = cotton.

(I know...I have no right to tease considering the fact that I'm the President of the small island nation of Typos, but I've heard sooooo many ignorami refer to people who follow Islam as "Muslins".

I guess Muslin:Muslim::Oriental:Asians ? )
