I think it's a Midwestern thing? So many places are so out in the middle of nowhere, they might as well be Egypt? Where the Bumble-Fuck (or bum-fuck or butt-fuck) comes from, I've no idea.

I've heard "out in the middle of BFE", which stands for Big Fukin' Egypt (ie middle of the desert or no where).

I've heard the "bum-fuck" bit, but not the Egypt bit?

I've never heard the Egypt part tagged on to it, just butt-fuck or bumble-fuck, sometimes east bumble-fuck.

"Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying 'yes' begins things. Saying 'yes' is how things grow. Saying 'yes' leads to knowledge."

Floor is worst case scenario; I have a guest bedroom with a really comfy futon and an accommodating couch. I just mentioned floors in case lotsa people wanna crash.

Public transport...not really. I live kinda in BuFu, but I have a reliable car and a valid license! If you prefer to stay in the city, I would volunteer my place for a summer barbecue one night.

I can vouch for the comfort of the guest futon! I slept like a baby! (on the rare occasions where i slept and didn't watch the sunrise on the front porch with Mr. Gurgle and Royko Wink )

Ooh, Mega Bus- it looks like if I don't need to leave on the first bus in the morning (they're pretty much express through to Chicago) it'll be $60 round trip.

Ace!

Here in the Boreal forests, we say "Butt-Fuck, Texas", or "Butt-Fuck, Arkansas". (When we're not saying "Saint-Louis de la Fin de la Carte" or "Saint-Creux des Loins", that is.)

I always refer to it as "East Jabib," which I made up as a catch-all "somewhere that no-one actually knows where it is."

(them) --end them...LINE! (to prompt, to correct; no more; and by a correction to say we end the heart-ache of a really terrible performance) You didn't have to give me the whole thing! I know it!

I've never heard of this bu-fu thing... I must be out of the loop...

But also, I live around Chicago parts. Of course, I believe end of June/beggining of July I'll be on summer break, so who knows where I'll be... but anyway, meeting up would be cool, and odds are I will be around Chicago during that time...

You are an Illuminator. You add color and beauty to anything you can get your hands on: books, tavern signs, clocks, small barnyard animals. While your work goes largely unappreciated, at least it pays the bills. Why, that enormous golden M you painted for the new Scottish restaurant down the street netted you a farthing!
