A few days ago two three-year-olds decided I was a cookie and baked and ate me. It was completely and utterly random and reminded me of the board for no particular reason. Then I decided one of them was a sack of potatoes and for some reason this was not funny. I don't understand.

Oh, and this QC particularly reminds me of the board: Poor Lion's Almanac

Not sure why, though

I've been nabbing Doctor Who repeats on DVR and just watched the episode "Love & Monsters". The way the lads and lasses of LINDA joined together out of a common purpose and then ended up just hangin' out reminds me of Da Board.

It also leads me to conclude that Neil is the 11th Doctor.

"Chives?"
"Yes, m'lud?"
"Is that Ms Ephemera hovering over the croquet lawn?"
"Indeed m'lud. She's marshalled all the haggle-dans. Missy-twigs and vale-nymphs from Claypole Woods. Apparently she intends to tear this house down and dance on the ruins."
"Well, Chives, you'd better start the car, what? And pack my tennis things too"

Yesterday, I walked past a gallery and saw this painting.

Isn't it awesome?
It's huuuuuuge, it costs 36.000 Euro (and a hell of a lot more US Dollars) and is called "Bibliotiger" (Librarytiger).

So of course I thought of Aitapata, prowling the aisles between the shelves and eating misbehaving patrons for breakfast. Big Grin

(Check out the other pictures at the bottom, too. I particularly like the ones with wild animals in subway stations - the zebra in the London underground for instance.)

ETA: Bwahaha! The artist's comment: "the tiger is a little undecided as you can see by the swishing of its tail. Perhaps it cannot make up its mind between Kant and Schopenhauer."

I was at the Bass Outlet store yesterday looking at shoes, and the style for the pair I was considering buying was the "Maeve." Smile

Of course we are in the comp lab procrastinating our butts off instead...

Thus, I am reminded of the board

You are a Player. There are no small parts, only small people, and we suspect that's due to malnutrition endemic to the period. Every night you're a different person, knave or king, man or woman, 875 roles in all. The ones the audience liked got you applause, and the ones they didn't got you pelted rotten vegetables. The theater is a harsh mistress, but you love her dearly. Plus, it beats working for a living!

'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
'Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: 'we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'
'How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice
'You must be' said the Cat 'or you wouldn't have come here'

we were building the set model for Beauty and the Beast and our lighting designer/crew president says "It looks awesome! We should have a puppet show!"

He had this sort of insane silly grin on his face and was sitting on the floor at the time to get an "audience view"

(We have an awesome scale model of the stage and surrounding area that we use and it looks remarkably like a marionette stage, open topped so we can drop pipes in and pull them out)

You are a Farrier. You enjoy nothing more than seeing a well-fitted hoof. Just because it's an animal doesn't mean it can't have a touch of style. Try this pump; here's a stilletto; my, did you see the calves on that pony? Size 6? Oh, madame, really! Still, there are so many hooves, and so little time, and you often miss out on the fun (and the better meme results.)
