Speaking of Faith, on NPR, recently did a segment on Einstein and the Mind of God. I've got them on podcast, haven't listened yet, but thought folks here might enjoy the segments (it was a 2-parter).

TTBOOK also did a series (Electrons to Enlightenment) on science and religion. A 5-parter that I'm 1/5 of the way through.

I was actually hoping that they'd use Dawn's going from a god of Energy to Matter ... as a basis for a new Physics that would allow the manufacturing of hot chicks from old Sears Diehard car batteries.

New Earth-like planet found?

Okay, maybe announced a little prematurely and not quite "Earth as we know it" ... but if it supports Life, we gotta allow it to be alien as what suits 'em ... Smile

Exciting that they're finding more lively worlds than big old gas giants and frozen ice worlds too!

Liquid water oceans and atmospheres would be nice. Weather might suck, being infrared chaos between the hotside and the cold side (though an ocean or thick atmosphere might distribute the heat on even a non-spinning world?) ...

Life's where you live though, and hopefully this one's got life-potential.

Maybe we can make fun of them: Hey, red dwarf. I'm talkin' to you? Yo, what's cooked on one side and frozen on the other? My tv dinner and your planet! Ha!

Really, though, it does amaze me that researchers could be 80 million years off on the extinction date. I mean, 80 million. That's, like, a lot.

Well it's extinct now! You live for 80 million years, think you're a bad-ass that can handle anything that comes down the pike, and then a human in a pointy hat murderlates you.
