Oddly, CD's statement sums up my point well at the same time, which is strange since I seem to be farther toward the other side of the issue.

As I said, the genetics thing is frankly beyond me which is why I personally feel naturally cautious about it - I don't mind mind pushing boundaries, provided that I know what they bound, if that makes sense - but I understand the history of genetics and medicine well enough to know that this will not end in The Island of Dr. Moreau as some seem to fear.

A man far better educated than I once made a brilliant argument for why one should let extinct species remain extinct, but I can't even come close to summing it up so I'll go with my own opinion - more animals = a good thing.

That and I want to see a thylacine too.

"Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying 'yes' begins things. Saying 'yes' is how things grow. Saying 'yes' leads to knowledge."

I just want to see what would actually happen if you combined, like, a tiger with a velociraptor with a sea wasp and gave it compound eyes. And then make it the size of a chinchilla.

Sounds like a Paris Hilton pet. Put a bow in it's hair and you're set.

Wolverine is a frog!!

X-Men fans rejoice: Wolverine has come to life, as a frog. When the comic book warrior faces a fight, metallic blades spring forth from his hand. A new study concludes that certain African frogs are similarly equipped, having sharp, claw-shaped bones that pierce through their own fingertips when the animal is threatened.

Just don't give it a chinchilla's 'tude. It'll be running the planet in a month.

I prefer to live in a country that's small, and old, and where no one would ever have the NERVE to wear a cape in public, whether they could leap tall buildings in a single bound or not.

when's spring due?.

I'm the best at what I do, and what I do involves a lot of eating arthropods.
