This is a news website article about a scientific finding

Brilliant deconstruction of how-to-write-an-article-about-science. Man, sometimes journalists really suck. Big Grin
I love the comments, too.

That was masterly (including the rickroll). And you are right about the comments - they gave me some hope for internet-kind.

Oh funny I have him in my google reader feed

Also Dan your link is broken and I'm guessing the NY Times article re the Science Paper on bacterium that can use arsenate instead of phosphate is hardly, "life, but not as we know it" any more than any other extremephiles. To be fair the recent discovery of archea in the deep crust was more interesting

It's still pretty fascinating to read, though. I'd just prefer the presentation of the information to be a little less breathless about the possibilities it represents.

And MG's quote is from the Original ST episode "The Devil in the Dark," which stars a lumpy blanket and lowly crew member under a blanket, aka, the Horta, as the first non-carbon lifeform in the series, so it seems rather appropriate here.

You can tell him from me that he's a VERY CLEVER MAN!

Actually, it really should be required reading for all would-be journalists, together with this for anyone with broadcast ambitions.
